Spotify is a leading name in music streaming and audio downloads, allowing you to either stream songs on your plan or purchase and download individual songs to keep. You can create a playlist of downloaded tunes that match your personality or mood, but what if you want to save the tunes on something other than your device, such as an SD card? You can get information and assistance from Spotify user support, and you can follow the steps below to download your playlist to an SD card.

Downloading Your Spotify Playlist

First, make sure you have a Spotify plan that allows you to download songs and listen to them offline. A free Spotify streaming plan typically requires you listen to songs on your device by logging into the Spotify service. Free songs usually cannot be downloaded to an SD card.

Premium Spotify users have the option to listen to songs offline by downloading them to an SD card. Downloading your playlist can be completed in one of the two ways outlined below. You must have an Android device with an SD card to complete the download process.

Download Method One

The first way you can download paid (premium) songs to an SD card is to complete the following:

  1. Open Spotify on your smart device.
  2. Tap on "Library" to get your playlist.
  3. Open "Settings."
  4. Select "Storage."
  5. Choose the storage location for your songs (in this case your SD card).
  6. Tap "Ok" on your device to complete the download.

Download Method Two

The second way to save your Spotify playlist on an SD card is to download the content to your computer. You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Log into your Spotify premium account from your desktop or laptop.
  2. Choose the playlist you wish to download.
  3. Click the "Download" button at the top-right of the list (it will turn green).
  4. The playlist immediately starts the download process onto your PC.
  5. Once the download has completed, this playlist will be available for listening offline.
  6. Open the folder on your PC that contains your downloaded playlist.
  7. Insert your SD card into your PC, and open the SD card.
  8. Highlight the playlist.
  9. Right click and hold the mouse and move the playlist from the PC folder to the SD card folder. This will transfer the songs to your SD card.

Downloading your playlist from your Android device or PC will allow you to enjoy your Spotify tunes offline at any time. For more information or assistance, contact Spotify user support.
