What happens to my playlists if I cancel my subscription?
If a user cancels their Spotify Premium subscription, the playlists created while subscribed will still remain within their account. However, access to certain features and benefits available to Premium subscribers will be lost. The user will revert to the free version of Spotify, which means that their playlists will still be accessible, but they will be subject to ads, have limited offline listening capabilities, and experience certain restrictions on songs and features, such as the ability to skip tracks.
The playlists themselves will not be deleted or lost; they will simply be converted to the free tier of service. Users can continue to listen to their playlists but will have to listen to them in shuffle mode unless the tracks are part of an album or playlist that allows users to select songs freely.
If a user decides to resubscribe to Spotify Premium at a later date, all their playlists, saved songs, and library settings will be retained, making the transition back to premium seamless. It is always a good idea to check the current web page for the latest information on user subscriptions and features.
