In a nutshell: If a friend of family member has recently passed away then it is possible for you to turn their Facebook page into a memorial for them. A memorialized profile is an online place where people can come, share memories of the deceased, and revisit old posts and photos that remind them of the good times. It also protects the deceased's page by preventing anyone from logging into it and making changes. To learn how to turn a Facebook page into a memorial page, keep on reading.

If you are not a family member or close friend of the deceased then it is best to contact someone who is about memorializing the page instead of doing it yourself.Once the page has been memorialized, the word "Remembering" will appear next to their name on the profile. People may be able to share memories and thoughts on the memorialized page's timeline, if the profile's privacy settings allow it.If the deceased has set up a legacy contact, then that person can accept friend requests for the profile, change the photos, and make other changes. If no legacy contact has been chosen then no changes can be made to the page.If the deceased has chosen to have their page deleted after death then the page cannot be memorialized. Instead, in accordance with the deceased's wishes, it will be deleted. This decision cannot be overturned.
Facebook cannot provide log in information for the deceased's account under any circumstances. If it is not possible or practical to memorialize the deceased's Facebook page, it is possible to create an alternative type of memorial by creating a Facebook group dedicated to them.
Acceptable documents include a death certificate, an obituary, and a memorial card. Other documents may also be acceptable. Contact a Facebook representative to ask about specific examples.
If the document is online, take a screenshot of it.

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
After helping consumers for 10 years, we realized that you need an impartial, live person you can talk to about comparing the various TV, cable, Internet and phone plans in your area- somebody who can compare the best deals across telecom providers. So we created a free concierge service you can call at the phone number below.
