What You'll Need

When you transfer the account, you will need to have:The account numberThe answers to your account's security questionsYour Cox PINA photo of your government-issued IDA photo of the new primary account holder's government-issued IDThe new primary account holder's personal and contact information.If the account is being transferred because of the incapacity of the current account holder, a copy of power of attorney or conservatorship must be provided.If the account if being transferred because of the death of the primary account holder then a copy of the death certificate, a copy of a published official obituary, or a copy of an executor of estate appointment by a probate court must be provided.The account must not have any past-due payments owed. Neither can the new primary account holder.
There is no entirely online way to transfer the account to a new primary account holder.

Sign into your account.

Make a copy of your account number, the answers to your security questions, and any other information you think you might need in the future.

Call a Cox customer service representative.

Have the new account holder to ready to make a call to or receive a call from Cox when you make the call, as they may be needed to provide information as well. You will be required to fill out one or more forms, which you may be able to get online. You might need to notarize your copy before returning it. The new primary account holder will have the opportunity to make changes to the service package at this time.

The customer service center is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm EST Monday through Friday and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST on Saturdays.
