In a nutshell: Do you want to add an authorized user to your Cox Communications account? Only the primary account holder can do this. However, keep in mind that these users have limited access to your account. They may be able to manage certain profile and billing information but won't have access to all of the features. For example, authorized users can't access TV content online, order pay-per-view movies, or change the primary account holder's secret question or answer. To log in, enter your user ID and password. Then, click Sign In. If you've forgotten your username or password, just click on the link to reset your password or recover your user ID.
You can view this option by going to your Account Dashboard and clicking Edit Profile Settings.
Enter the required information for the new user, including their first name, last name, nickname, and recovery email address. You'll also need to create a user ID and password for them.
If you want the user to have access to your billing and payment information, select the Allow the User to Access Billing checkbox. Review the information you've entered, then click Save Changes to add the user to your Cox account. As the primary account holder, you can add up to 9 authorized or secondary users to your account.
If you need to modify a user and want to grant them access to billing, proceed to the next step.
From the Manage Users page, select the Allow user to access payment and billing info checkbox, then save your changes. Once you grant the secondary user billing access, they'll be able to view your billing information and make payments online.
You can also remove a secondary or authorized user from your account. To do this, simply sign back in and go to Manage Users. The process is the same: click on the user you wish to modify and click Remove User. Once removed, they will no longer be able to access your account.
Were you able to add another user to your Cox account? As mentioned, only the primary user or account holder has full access to the account. The primary account holder can perform certain actions that secondary users can't, such as changing the account PIN, viewing order history, and ordering pay-per-view movies. Secondary or authorized users have limited access to the account and can access billing information only when the primary account holder permits them. However, they can manage their own profile, including updating their preferences and changing their password. Still have questions? Contact Cox Customer Support for assistance.

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
