How many phases are there in the Atkins Diet?

Asked 6 months ago
The Atkins Diet consists of four phases. Phase 1, known as the "Induction" phase, is the initial and most restrictive period lasting for at least two weeks. It limits daily carbohydrate intake to around 20 grams, allowing the body to switch to burning fat for fuel. Phase 2, called "Ongoing Weight Loss", increases the carbohydrate intake gradually by incorporating a wider variety of foods. The objective is to find an individual's personal carbohydrate tolerance, aiding continued weight loss. Phase 3, or "Pre-Maintenance", gradually adds more carbohydrates to the diet, ensuring a balanced approach to further weight loss. Finally, Phase 4, commonly known as "Maintenance", focuses on sustainable weight management by maintaining healthy eating habits crafted during the previous phases. It is designed to be followed indefinitely to achieve long-term success.
