What Do I Do If My Amazon Gift Card Was Stolen?

If you have received an Amazon gift card but it has unfortunately been stolen or misplaced and you would still like to use it, this quick step by step guide will explain how and if that is possible.

You are an Amazon customer who received a gift card for a special occasion. However, you are in an unfortunate situation where it has been either stolen or lost but you would still like to use the card's balance.

Fortunately, in most situations Amazon can help regain your lost credit, however, this is not guaranteed. For the best chance of recovering your Amazon gift card, Amazon requires specific details.

Here's all you need to know.

Find the Amazon Customer Service Email Address or Phone Number:

To assist you in recovering your lost or stolen gift card credit, Amazon requires you to contact them directly either by phone or email.

The Amazon customer service phone number, email address, and live chat support link can be all found on the GetHuman website.

Now choose your preferred method of contact.

Find Your Order Details:

Before you contact Amazon directly you will need to find specific details related to your order. Knowing as much information possible regarding your order gives you the best chance of recovering your Amazon gift card credit.

If possible, you should be able to provide your order number, the purchaser's and recipient's names, and the street or e-mail address that the card was sent to.

Contact Amazon's Customer Service Team:

With your order information to hand call or contact the Amazon customer service team.

The customer service team will ask you to verify your order by providing the aforementioned information. Once you have provided the correct information they will then be able to tell you whether your gift card credit can be recovered.

Once Amazon has confirmed they can issue you a new card they will advise you to wait for an email containing cancellation confirmation and replacement information.

A replacement gift card will then be sent to the email or street address you have provided.
