Ways to Check Balance

You can check your Amazon gift card balance either by redeeming your card or without redeeming it.

When Redeeming Your Card

You can redeem your Amazon gift card online or through the mobile app. When you redeem the card, it automatically applies the amount on your card to your Amazon account.

Online

To redeem your Amazon gift card online, follow the steps below:

1. Open the Amazon website.
2. Log into your account.
3. Select Gift Cards in the menu at the top of the screen.
4. Click on Redeem an Amazon Gift Card.
5. Enter the claim code on the back of your Amazon gift card.
6. Click on Apply to your balance.
7. This will update your available balance and you are now ready to use your Amazon gift card.

Mobile App

To redeem an Amazon gift card through the mobile app, follow these steps:

1. Open the Amazon app on your smart device.
2. Log into your account.
3. Tap on the three lines at the bottom right-hand side of your screen.
4. Touch Account on the screen.
5. Scroll through the menu that opens to Manage gift card balance.
6. Tap on Redeem another gift card.
7. You can either use your phone's feature to scan your gift card code, or you can enter it manually.
8. Once the code is entered, tap on Apply to your balance to add the money to your account.

Once you've redeemed your card, either online or via the mobile app, the amount added will display in green letters on the screen giving you the current gift card balance on your account.

Checking Balance Without Redeeming Your Card

If you want to check your Amazon gift card balance without redeeming it, you can do that by completing the steps below:

1. Open Amazon's website.
2. Log into your account.
3. Type the word "help" in the search box at the top of the page.
4. Click Help and Customer Service on the window that opens.
5. Select Payments, charges or gift cards on the right-hand side of the screen.
6. Choose Something Else from the available options.
7. Select I need more help.
8. This will open a chat box with customer support.
9. Type in that you wish to check the balance of a gift card without redeeming it.
10. Note, the chat will initially be with a bot, not a live customer service representative. Type in "check Amazon gift card balance without redeeming it." The bot will switch you to a live customer service rep.
11. Provide the redemption code on your card to the representative and that individual will give you the balance on your card.
