Redeeming Your Amazon Gift Card

Whether you are an Amazon Prime member or not, you can use an Amazon gift card to pay for your purchases, but the steps are slightly different if you are a Prime member.

Prime Members

To use your Amazon gift card as a Prime member, follow the steps listed here.

1. Open Amazon on your device.
2. Log into your account.
3. Click on your name at the top of the screen.
4. Choose "Gift Cards" from the options on the screen.
5. Select "Redeem a Gift Card."
6. Key in the claim code and click "Apply to Your Balance."
7. Add the items you want to purchase to your shopping cart, then click the cart.
8. Review your shopping cart, then click "Proceed to Checkout."
9. Click "Change" in the box for "Step 2 Payment Method."
10. Select "Gift Card" as the payment method, then click "Use This Payment Method."
11. To complete the purchase, click "Place My Order."

Non-Prime Shoppers

If you are not a Prime member, you can still use an Amazon gift card to complete your purchase by following the steps below.

1. Open Amazon on your device.
2. Add the items you wish to purchase to your shopping cart.
3. Click on the cart at the top of the screen to review your order.
4. Select "Proceed to Checkout."
5. You will be prompted to open an account; however, you will not need to subscribe to a membership. This is simply for helping you track your order, and allow Amazon to send you emails on items you may like in the future.
6. Click "Create Your Amazon Account."
7. Enter your first and last name, an email address or phone number, and create a password.
8. Verify your email or phone number by clicking the link that is forwarded to you.
9. Enter the gift card claim number in the payment section of checkout.
10. Click "Place My Order" to complete the process.
