As an Amazon customer you count on receiving your packages on time and in good condition, but sometimes things go wrong. What do you do if Amazon loses your order? What steps should you take? You can contact Amazon customer support here, and below are steps you can take to report a lost order.

How to Report Your Lost Amazon Package

If you have not received your Amazon purchase, there are some steps you can take. You can report the lost package online, or you can request a call from Amazon customer support.

Online Reporting

There are two ways to report a lost package online.

Method One

To report a lost Amazon package online, follow these steps:

  1. Open Amazon's website in your computer browser.
  2. Login to your account.
  3. Click on "Accounts and Lists" in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  4. Select "Your Orders."
  5. In the order list, scroll to the package that has been lost or not delivered.
  6. Click on "Track Package" to see the status update and confirm the package has been marked as delivered or if it is still pending delivery.
  7. If it has been marked as "delivered" check around your home or business to see if the package is sitting near the structure. Also, check with neighbors to see if they received the package by mistake.
  8. Click on "Order details" to pull up all the information on this order.
  9. Tap on "Get Product Support."
  10. Select the link to report if your product has not arrived to start the process of locating or replacing a lost package.

Method Two

Another online method of reporting a lost item can be completed by doing the following:

  1. Open Amazon's website in your computer browser.
  2. Log into your account.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select "Help."
  4. Select "A delivery, order or return."
  5. Click on the product that was not delivered.
  6. Select the issue that best matches why you need customer support.
  7. Follow the prompts to report the lost item.

Reporting Lost Package Via Telephone

You can also contact Amazon customer support here to request tracking assistance and report a lost package. When you speak to the customer service representative, provide the following information:

  1. Full name
  2. Shipping and billing address
  3. Date of purchase
  4. Item(s) purchased
  5. Scheduled delivery date.

The representative will be able to assist you in tracking the package or processing a refund or replacement.
