My cousin, Gary M. Mullins, had an account on Facebook at facebook.com/Revelator0. Recently, he fell victim to a scam. Someone pretending to be a friend on Facebook requested Gary's phone number under the guise of needing help to unlock their account. Unfortunately, Gary shared his phone number, only to realize it was a hacker. The hacker accessed Gary's account, changed the email and password, and created a fake account using Gary's information. They demanded $4,[redacted] from Gary to restore his original account fully. Even though Gary can still access his actual account, logging in redirects him to the fraudulent one. This hacker has also tried the same scam with several of Gary's friends by asking for their phone numbers. Despite our efforts to warn them, some friends have already fallen for the scam.
