The following are issues that customers reported to GetHuman about Asda customer service, archive #27. It includes a selection of 20 issue(s) reported March 31, 2023 onward. If you have a similar customer service issue, this page will help you find current, up-to-date answers and solutions too.
I placed an online order on March 28th, a Tuesday. Upon receiving the meat, I noticed it was dated March 26th. I have attempted to contact Asda via phone and customer services, but was disconnected. I have also tried emailing with no response as I cannot find the email address. Currently, I cannot request a refund on the website. I am frustrated as a loyal customer and former employee because the stock rotation is poor, especially in online shopping. This oversight is unacceptable, especially for items like fresh and cooked meat. Proper stock rotation is essential, and this incident is disappointing. I hope this issue can be resolved promptly.

We placed an order for delivery on Sunday from 8-9 am (Order Number [redacted][redacted]), but the delivery didn't happen as it claimed payment couldn't be processed. We made multiple orders earlier in the week using the same bank card without any issues. We had to resort to an express delivery (Order Number [redacted][redacted]) to compensate for the initial failed delivery, and the payment for this order went through smoothly. As a result of the first order cancellation, we ended up having to pay double the delivery cost. Our bank and card information is correct, and there are sufficient funds available in the account.

I visited your Dumbarton branch this morning for shopping and needed something from the cigarettes department after 8:00. There was no one there initially, but when I saw workers at the door, I asked if someone was going to serve in that area. The response I received was not pleasant, as the male worker said to give him 2 seconds. However, the woman stated that the department didn't open until 8:00, though it was already 8:04. The male worker's attitude escalated, and I felt his approach was aggressive when he repeated the 2 seconds statement. Despite questioning his behavior, I was met with the same response. Feeling uncomfortable, I expressed my frustration by saying something under my breath. Unfortunately, this led to the worker threatening to bar me from the store, causing me further distress due to my mental health issues. Subsequently, I left the store feeling shaken. I have been a loyal customer since the store opened and have never encountered such treatment. I kindly ask for the ban to be lifted and recommend retraining for this employee. I even have a photo if needed, and I'm willing to provide more information. Please reach out to me if necessary.

Hello, we shop online for our parents, and they received a text from someone claiming to be Asda stating there was an issue with payment for their order, even though the shopping is not due until tomorrow. We find it concerning to receive such a message, especially when dealing with elderly individuals. We've attempted to contact Asda over the phone but haven't been able to speak to anyone as the relevant options are not available, and we keep getting disconnected. Can anyone confirm if this is a legitimate text from Asda or if it might be a scam? Thank you.

Good afternoon, I am seeking some clarification regarding your Rewards program. Should the checkout staff inquire about the customer having the app on their phone? I am in my eighties and have unintentionally missed using my app in the last two months. When I realized this, I checked at Customer Services and was informed, rather sternly, that I should have remembered. I have two receipts totaling over £[redacted].00 (£53.00 this week). I am somewhat disappointed that the value of the goods purchased is lost within seconds of realizing the oversight. Could you please reconsider and make it a bit more convenient for older customers who may feel flustered at the checkout, especially with other customers waiting in line? Kind regards, Valerie T. Mrs. 🌈

Dear team,
Today, on 01/05, I purchased 2 packs of chicken thighs. Unfortunately, I realized after cooking that both packs had expired the day before. This situation has caused me a lot of distress, especially considering I am 6 months pregnant with my first baby after a 9-year journey to conceive. I am usually very cautious about my diet and well-being. I have tried to reach my midwife to understand any potential risks to myself and my unborn baby due to consuming expired meat. This incident has left me feeling anxious, upset, and self-blaming. As regular Asda shoppers, we have never faced such an issue before, making me concerned about the safety of other unsuspecting customers. I seek a full refund and compensation for the distress caused. I have proof of purchase and can provide images of the expired products. I await your response.
Sincerely,
Egle Trinkaite

I recently received a notification about my number possibly being disconnected because I forgot to change networks. I am unable to make outgoing calls at the moment, which is crucial for me, especially due to my health conditions. I must keep my number, [redacted]7, as it is essential for my situation. My details are as follows: Donna Gibson, residing at 18 Franklin Close, Weymouth, Dorset, DT4 0NT. Ensuring my phone connectivity is urgent, as I have children and health issues that require me to have access to my phone. Your prompt assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased 12 iridescent coffee mugs from my local Asda store in South Ruislip. Unfortunately, these mugs become extremely hot and are not suitable for hot drinks or microwave use. Both my son and I burned our fingers using them, so I am seeking a refund. I am willing to return them to the store but also suggest removing them from the shelves and issuing a warning. I have heard that others have experienced the mugs exploding when filled with hot water, and I cannot risk such a danger. Considering the price of these mugs, I believe this issue needs to be addressed promptly. As a regular Asda customer, I don't complain often, but this situation warrants attention.

On 2/5/[redacted], I visited the Keighley store at 16:44 and made a payment of £[redacted].78 with receipt number TC 7[redacted] 4[redacted] [redacted]. Despite the cashier scanning my rewards app, the rewards for this transaction have not shown up in my account. I have attempted to contact customer service multiple times without success, encountering long wait times and calls disconnecting after 10 minutes. The language barrier with the call center staff further complicated matters. Visiting the store on 3/5/[redacted] did not resolve the issue, as I was directed to call 0[redacted], which proved equally challenging to reach. Additionally, there was a lack of manned checkouts at the store, contrary to previous assurances received via email. This level of service is disappointing and inconvenient.

My 21-year-old daughter visited your Bearsden Store in East Dunbartonshire after work to purchase Prime. When she tried to check out at the self-checkout, she was asked for ID. Despite wearing her ScotMid work uniform with a Think 25 badge and having her car keys visible (one must be 18 to work there and sell alcohol), the staff member insisted on ID. Another staff member was called over, which left my daughter feeling embarrassed and upset as they refused to allow her to buy an energy drink, typically recommended for kids over 16 (not a legal requirement). She came home in tears due to how she was treated. I plan to address this with the store as my daughter was too upset to go back today. The incident occurred around 3:30 at the self-service checkout. It's disappointing to see such behavior from an older woman, and I will ensure this issue is addressed appropriately.

A few days ago, the Asda rewards system changed, requiring us to sign in again, which I did. However, when I tried to swipe the app at Asda, it wouldn't work. This issue affected others too, with about three people in the queue experiencing the same problem. I've been attempting to find a phone number to call regarding this matter as I want my rewards added. It was a small purchase of £19.92, a regular occurrence for me. I hope to have my rewards credited as I missed out during Christmas after spending a significant amount. I've tried calling multiple numbers, but each call gets disconnected, which is frustrating and disheartening. Thank you.

I purchased a chicken, but upon cutting it, I found all its internal organs (stomach, heart, something green) still attached. I returned the chicken to the store where the manager, seeming frustrated, offered me a refund. However, I had to spend an additional £17.90 to feed my children and make a 10-mile round trip to return the chicken. My partner, who is immune-compromised, could have become severely ill from salmonella if he consumed it. I have photos of the issue if necessary. Thank you.

I receive payments every four weeks and recently made a purchase for Whiskas cat food, Catsan litter, treats, and bin bags, totaling around £30. I instructed the delivery driver to leave the items in the back garden if I wasn't available, but unfortunately, the delivery was left in the front and now my order is missing. This has left me in a difficult situation as I cannot afford to buy the items again. I was promised a response within 24 hours, but no one has contacted me yet. I would like to either receive my delivery as soon as possible or get a full refund.

Hello, I have been attempting to contact customer service at the provided number regarding an issue with my Asda rewards account, but unfortunately, I have not been successful even after waiting for 50 minutes on two separate occasions.
Following an update to the Asda Rewards app yesterday, my account stopped working. Upon re-registering, I encountered an issue where I was unable to proceed as my mobile number (which is required) was already in use. Consequently, I am unable to access my original account with the same email address, and the new account cannot be set up as the system recognizes my mobile number from the previous account.
I would appreciate your assistance with this matter as I am a loyal Asda customer.
Thank you.

I was ready to mix distilled vinegar and bicarbonate of soda for cleaning my new kitchen. However, I found an unknown object floating in it. The products are within the use-by date but have been stored for a few months. Since the mixture is now ruined, I'll need to buy new supplies from the nearest shop in Larkhall.

Today, I attempted to use SmartShop at the store. With the assistance of the manager, I successfully downloaded the app and completed my shopping without any issues. However, when it came time to pay, I encountered difficulties. The voucher I tried to use was unable to be scanned by the machine, and I wasn't sure how to verify that I had completed a shop over £12 as required for the promotion. Additionally, my Asda rewards didn't show up for today's purchase. Despite seeking help, I was unable to resolve these issues, so I ended up paying and leaving, feeling dissatisfied with the experience. This was my second attempt at using SmartShop; the first time I faced frustrations due to poor internet connection. While I managed most of the process this time, I still struggled with inputting my cards and would have appreciated clearer instructions.

I bought ink for my Canon printer and it ran out in just 2 weeks, even though I only use it occasionally to print labels for my business. I've been encountering constant issues, having to clean the printer head almost every time I print. This never happened with other ink I've used before. The first set of ink wouldn't print in red, and now the new batch prints orange/red unless I clean the nozzles frequently, using up a lot of ink. I've never had problems with genuine Canon ink in the past. I can provide evidence of my purchase through my card payment and rewards app.

I am a disabled driver and have been using a blue disability badge for many years. On April 28th, [redacted], I parked at the Bridgend Asda Carpark and received a Parking Ticket from Parking Eye. This was the first time this happened, and I was surprised to learn that disabled drivers are only allowed to park for two hours. After shopping, my daughter and I visited the Asda Restaurant and had a break before leaving. I paid the fine but am disappointed by the lack of clear information regarding parking policies for disabled drivers. I may reach out to local newspapers to share my experience. Sincerely, Gerhard Wohl

I recently cooked a batch of 20 breaded chicken nuggets from the essentials range and found large white clumps in one nugget when I broke it open to check if it was cooked. The clumps resembled tablets and were not typical of chicken nuggets. After examining the rest, only one other nugget had a similar issue, while the rest appeared normal. I believe a refund for the affected nuggets would be appropriate. I can provide photos upon request.

I purchased chicken at Asda yesterday before picking up my daughter from school. I didn't notice that the chicken had the same expiration date as the purchase date. I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant and am hesitant to cook it. It's now one day past the sell-by date. I believe it should have been discounted or marked with a yellow sticker. This situation is unacceptable, especially given the rising cost of living.
