Introduction

Comcast or Xfinity customers can permit other users to perform specific actions on their account, such as canceling services or paying bills, via the website or Xfinity app. To give someone permission to manage payments, consider upgrading their role to manager. A member role allows users to troubleshoot or view camera footage. Want to add users to your account? Check out our guide for step-by-step instructions.

Sign in To Your Account

Log in to your account using your email address, username and mobile and click Let's Go.

Tap on the Account Icon and Click Account and Identity

To add someone new, scroll to Account Details and tap "Add Someone New". Before making changes, you'll need to verify your identity. Xfinity offers two verification methods: tapping a notification in the app or entering a verification code sent via text or email.

Select Member, Manager or Viewer, then Tap Continue

Managers have access to the settings, services and billing. Members can also access Xfinity apps and troubleshooting, while viewers only have access to Xfinity apps.

Send an Invite

The next step is to enter the new user's personal information, including the phone number and email address. After filling out all the details, click Send.

Wait for the Confirmation

Once you've sent the invite, you'll receive a confirmation message from Comcast. Tap "Done". Note that the new user has 7 days to accept the invitation; otherwise, you'll need to send another one. After accepting, new users will need to create an Xfinity user ID and password.

If you're adding a Viewer to your account, use the next step below.

Give Them a Name

You need to enter their first and last name, as well as create a username they can use to log in to Xfinity. Click Next.

Set a Password For the User

Make sure the password contains at least one letter and number and a special character. Passwords must also be at least 8 characters. Wait for the confirmation message on the screen.

Change User Role

As the account holder, you can change user roles by signing in to your account, tapping on your profile, and navigating to Account and Identity. Scroll to Account Details to view the list of users, then tap on the user and select a new role: Manager, Member, or Viewer.

Select Change Permissions

You'll find this option under User Permissions. To make changes, Xfinity will prompt you to verify your identity again – simply enter a code or tap a notification in the Xfinity app to complete the verification.

Conclusion

The account holder can also transfer their primary rights to another user. They can do this by going to Account Details and selecting "Transfer Primary Rights" under User Permissions. Note that transferring your rights will change your role to Member, and you'll lose access to Xfinity Rewards. However, as the account owner, you'll still be responsible for payments. After completing the transfer, wait for the confirmation message indicating a successful transfer. If you have any questions or issues, contact Customer Support or use the chat feature on Xfinity's website for assistance.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Comcast Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
