United Airlines Tip from Dec 04, 2009

“I booked roundtrip tickets from Bangkok to the States online using VISA card on 9/15/09. I got confirmation number, eticket numbers, seat assignments at that time. When I checked in for my flight on 11/25/09 I was informed that my tickets had been canceled and to contact my credit card company. I had to buy new tickets at a considerably higher price to get home; besides the money involved, I lost my good seats and Economy Plus upgrade, and my usually mild demeanor. VISA says there was an initial fraud alert on my card, which was immediately lifted and per my credit card records, the payment was made on 9/17/09. United says they never received payment and therefore canceled the tickets. Nobody bothered to inform me of this cancellation, and I mean NOBODY. We are in dispute resolution. Thus far no credit has been issued by either party. I don't have "warm fuzzies" about United or VISA at this point in time.”
