What are the hours and when should I call?

Verizon Wireless Prepaid operates the call center for this 888-294-6804 phone number 24 hours, 7 days. The short answer is that you should call on a Tuesday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 776 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).

Automatically call when they open

When you use our free AI-powered phone to call and talk, wait on hold, or navigate for you, it will automatically wait until the Verizon Wireless Prepaid call center opens before trying to call. It will ask your permission before it places the call, so you can also further delay that scheduled call until you are ready. But that means you can "set it and forget it" ahead of time.
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Verizon Wireless Prepaid phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Verizon Wireless Prepaid staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

The least busy time to call

The least busy day to call Verizon Wireless Prepaid is Sunday. The most busy day to call is Thursday, which averages 44% more phone calls by comparison. Again, this is based on a sample of 776 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

Calling this Verizon Wireless Prepaid Customer Number

I just got a new Prepaid phone for my son to use when he is at sports practices and needed to switch the number over from his previous prepaid phone. This time I plan to go with Verizon because I think it will save me money. However, I have to get everything changed to the new service which means waiting on hold. I'm not a big fan of calling customer service, but it wasn't actually that bad of an experience.

When I first called, a voice agent picked up right away and said, "Welcome to Verizon, I’m the Verizon Assistant. To get started, please say or enter your ten-digit mobile number. To become a new customer, say new customer or press star." I pressed star and was taken to a new directory with the following options, "If you would like to start a new prepaid service and have a 4G LTE phone, press 1. If you would like to start a new prepaid service and have a 5G phone, press 2. If you would like to purchase a new phone or receive information about your order, press 3."

Since I needed to start new service, I pressed two, and was given a new array of options: "Okay to activate your Verizon wireless phone 4G sim card and smartphone with a new phone number, press 1.  If you have an existing wireless number and want to activate your phone, press 2. If you have a phone number from another wireless carrier, press 3. If you have a new Verizon Wireless SIM card you would like to activate on your current wireless phone, press 4."

I was starting to get concerned that this might take some time, but after pressing three, I was instantly transferred to Raul after just one ring. He had a slight drawl, but he was helpful and within just a few minutes I was completely done with the setup.
