I’m currently staying at the hospital with my daughter who had surgery, and the hospital accepts UberEats orders at the main entrance so I thought that I would order something. I’ve been here for over a week, so the idea of food not from the hospital cafe sounded great. Sadly the execution was not so great, as the photo in the app showed my bag sitting on some random bench somewhere.
Since it was clear that I wasn’t going to be able to find that exact bench, I called this number that I found online to see what I could do about it. Granted, I bet this situation happens to people on a regular basis, but I don’t see why, because after awhile the delivery person is going to get caught and banned from the service. There were also probably calls from merchants and delivery people as well, so I was prepared to wait for a minute. Luckily, I had all the time in the world since no one was going anywhere. If anything, this gave me the chance to talk to someone.
At first, I was confused calling this number because it seemed to think that I was a merchant, but I worked my way through the system and eventually was able to be treated like a customer. After I dialed, an automated system picked up and greeted me saying, “Welcome to UberEats restaurant and merchant support.
