To whom it may concern: I am Don Schmalz, Cody Wyoming! I have a Funeral to attend in Billings on Tuesday Feb * (my brothers death-and I am a Pallbearer!) I inquired about a “bereavement fare” by calling United Airlines Phone * ***-UNITED*, the only number I was able to find online!!? I booked it with the person who answered, so that my wife and I could travel to Billings (BIL) from my home in Phoenix (PHX) for the funeral! *The man who answered (Andrew Smith) said he was a United representative, and gave me a rate of $*** for my wife and I-Round Trip! I agreed and gave him my Discover Credit Card number, and he told me he would send me an itinerary! As soon as I saw the United Itinerary, i was told to sign the Trip Drives Credit Authorization, and send it back! After I did, I had a call from Mr Smith, telling me that my reservation was complete (* GKQET*) and that it was paid for and ready for our flight on Feb *! I was troubled about the Authorization Form That I was told to sign before booking-had never done that before, so when I returned home awhile later, I went online to check on our reservations! When I put in the Confirm *, it said that my Res had been cancelled, because of NON Payment!? I called United’s * again, after checking with my Discover Card, Discover told me that they were “paying out the $*** requested by United”! I told them that the reservation had been cancelled, and NOT to pay out the money! They again told me that they would “pay it out” , to United, even though I told them it was a phony company! I closed my Discover Acct, worried they would GET MORE! Awhile later, while talking to United’s agents on the phone (while I was arguing with Discover), MY WIFE-worried about my heart, Rebooked with United Agents using HER Credit Card! ( Confirmation *GI*K*Q)! The following day, Jan **, I decided to TRY AGAIN, to see if I really had a booking because of all this crookedness! When I put in the new Confirmation code, It told me that THIS RESERVATION WAS CANCELLED TOO!!!? That money ($***) was NOT returned to my wife’s account either! At this time it may be returned, but I fear that my $*** will not be returned to my account, because of the fraudulent company that took it, and the way they did! United was who cancelled the SECOND BOOKING, AND SAID THEY MADE A MISTAKE!??? So, today, I booked ONE MORE reservation (HZXEYN) to the funeral, rather than start over at such a late date with another airline! I now have nearly $**** spent on these two tickets-with no guarantee that I will get any of it back! United won’t support me, nor give me any credibility, nor credit for monies spent! I received a call from a United Supervisor from USA today (they are rare), and he suggested that I should receive some sort of reparation from UA-however, he hung up and NOTHING has been done for us since!*I will NEVER again use United as an airline, and through my connection in Wyoming State Government (I am a Commissioner from Region *), I will be sure no one else-within my power, will use them either! *Sincerely *Donald C Schmalz****-***-****
