Good Afternoon. I recently purchased a Groupon for a two hour home cleaning with Genesis Cleaning, something I have done (albeit with different vendors) in the past and had much success. Unfortunately, in this situation, the outcome was far from positive and I do not feel comfortable rescheduling with Genesis Cleaning to return to my neighborhood let alone be let into my house.*After purchasing the Groupon several weeks ago, soon after I emailed Genesis Cleaning to schedule an appointment in the near term. My first “red flag” indicator was the lack of professionalism apparent in the initial email correspondence with the company. For example, I wrote an email with details, explaining some of the things in the home I wanted focus on as well as asked additional questions of interest in other services. The reply I got did not even have a greeting, a thank you for reaching out nor did it answer my questions, instead it was simply “send me you address”. In this day and age of customer service, especially those companies using Groupon as a way to source out and retain new customers I found it very odd. Nevertheless, a date for cleaning was set. On the day of the expected house cleaning, the Genesis Cleaning company was **minutes late with no word or justification as to why. At the **minute mark I had no choice but to email whoever I had been corresponding with over the previous week (literally I had no idea who was emailing, name, title?) to ask to reschedule as I had other obligations to attend to. About **minutes later, the cleaning team arrived at my home ringing the doorbell furiously. At this point we were around the **minutes mark past the scheduled cleaning time. Unable to answer the door due to being upstairs getting ready to leave the house, I received a call from a member of Genesis Cleaning to whom I assumed to be the man I had been exchanging emails with. My partner answered the phone and simply stated due to the team being almost an hour late we would like to reschedule for another day*time. The man was clearly very unhappy hearing this, said that there would be no chance to reschedule the cleaning appointment (ie now or never?) and the team was outside and had been waiting on us. My partner calmly explained that that was not the case, they had literally just arrived minutes ago and that we had been sitting here for **minutes with no update to their location which is what resulted in our email to reschedule. The man at this point insinuated my partner was a liar and hung up the phone. Yes, hung up the phone. Minutes later, the man did call back with a completely different approach and did in fact apologize, stating to please call back when was convenient us to reschedule the cleaning appointment. While I do appreciate the apology, this is absolutely unacceptable and the unprofessionalism Genesis Cleaning exhibited in their behavior that day gave us clear insight to the type of values and standard being used by the company. Not to mention, that almost **minutes after our last phone conversation that established some sort of resolution, the cleaning team stayed parked outside the residence. When we walked out towards their car, the team immediately started the car and quickly pulled out the driveway. I am unsure what this was suppose to accomplish, and perhaps the team was told to sit in the area until the next appointment, however, regardless the perception it left was one of a negative nature and made both of us very uncomfortable given the recent interactions. At this time, I would like to request a refund from the Groupon for the purchased Genesis Cleaning services. Please let me know what other information or answers I can provide to help facilitate this process, as we will not be using this cleaning service again. Thank you.
