i signed up for FB account a few weeks back. I did so reluctantly tbh as i have been off FB for * years quite happily. however, i'm moving to a new country and i wanted to join the school groups and other expat groups, where i have been getting lots of help and messages from others out there.*And then suddenly i go to log in and without any explanation, no emails or attempt to contact me it says FB need a photo to prove who i am - which is ridiculous b'cos you have no reference point anyway. And now * weeks later i still cannot access MY account, i cannot contact FB and there is NO explanation. AND YET, you're still sending me emails to say i have messages and relevant posts to my groups and i cannot access them. It's beyond frustrating and i work for a tech company and i'm more than aware of GDPR and you have no right to ask for personal data and not give me means to recover it.*i want to get an explanation of what has happened, and get my account back so i can get on with the business of finding out the information i need in order to move to a new country. I have no desire to add loads of friends to my account, no photos and other information will be uploaded onto my account as i do not trust you with my data , i only want to ensure i can join the groups and communicate with other parents .**This needs fixing immediately. Having to wait two weeks and receiving no communication at all, in this day and age, is utterly unacceptable
