Fraudulent credit card transaction St Joseph Resort Salerno Italy. Booking no: ************My husband and I checked into the St Joseph resort Salerno Italy, on the *nd June ****. After swiping my credit card on check in and making an imprint of the card, they told me that their card machine was not working. They requested a cash payment upfront, to which I initially objected because it was not stated on any correspondence that they only accepted cash. The same afternoon, the receptionist told me that the machine would be repaired and that I would be able to use the card when I checked out on the *th. When we checked out on Monday *th June ****, they again insisted on cash. The manager was on duty that morning. The receptionist said that he insisted on cash. We paid them cash in Euros since we had a plane to catch. The receptionist wrote out a handwritten receipt with scratched out and amended details on it. On ** June, I was shocked to see that over * weeks after checking out and a week after my Booking.com review for them appeared, (See below) I was billed on my credit card for the full amount again, R* ***.**, which I regard as a fraudulent transaction. I am unable to contact the resort directly since the telephone number supplied does not connect from South Africa and there does not appear to be a direct website or email address for them. *Please assist or send me the correct contact details for them as well as an email address. I did not expect this kind of fraud to take place on a Booking.com reservation and their staff barely speak English.
