No one responded to the complaint that I submitted online so I’m just going to leave this on every public forum I can find until I get a response**To whom it may concern,**Before I get into my complaint, please let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a loyal American Airlines gold member. I have a American Airlines business credit card that I spend close to $****** a year on and use all of the rewards for American Airlines miles. I have a back problem that makes sitting up for long periods of time extremely painful so I always try to fly first class to make the flights as bearable as possible. **I was supposed to fly directly from SAN to PHL at **:**pm on August *th. The flight was delayed for * hour. Then the flight was moved to another gate where it was delayed for another two hours, and then cancelled at *am in the morning. I went home and after an hour on the phone, I was able to reschedule a flight for *** at noon. I woke up the next morning and this flight was cancelled too. I went right to the airport instead of calling to see what my options were. When I arrived there were about ** people in line with what sounded like similar complaints. Frontier airlines had a layover flight leaving in an hour so realizing that American airline couldn’t do anything for me, I hopped in a taxi and went to terminal *, and paid $*** for a frontier economy flight. So to summarize, two consecutive first class flights were cancelled. Missing the original flight caused me to miss my best friends bachelor party and I also missed the $**** party bus that was going to take me and ** friends from Philadelphia airport to ocean city Maryland. In addition to that I was forced to take a $*** economy flight that was * hours longer. **I was flying in for a friends bachelor party that I ended up missing. I put up $*** for a party bus that was supposed to pick me up from the airport with all my friends. I missed that and had to pay $*** for a rental car. All I ask is that American Airlines give me the miles back for the round trip flight and give me an additional ***** miles to compensate me for the frontier economy flight that I had to pay $*** for.
