To cancel your AT&T account you will need to call into support. But before, you should find another provider and check to see if your number is portable, meaning you can bring the phone number to another company.

I recently switched to AT&T after ** years with Sprint. The person who opened my account promised I'd get everything I had with Sprint and then some. He also said that my monthly bill (for * phones, one on a contract for approx. $**.***month) would be "near, but under $*****I made an international call and the bill was $***. I did not pay for international calls with Sprint. When I called to complain, they told me they would credit my account for the call this time, but not again. It was not done, so I called again and got the same promise.
