What are the hours and when should I call?

Stream Energy operates the call center for this 866-447-8732 phone number Mon-Fri 8am-9pm, Sat-Sun 9am-6pm ET. The short answer is that you should call on a Thursday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 335 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).

Automatically call when they open

When you use our free AI-powered phone to call and talk, wait on hold, or navigate for you, it will automatically wait until the Stream Energy call center opens before trying to call. It will ask your permission before it places the call, so you can also further delay that scheduled call until you are ready. But that means you can "set it and forget it" ahead of time.
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Stream Energy phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Stream Energy staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

The least busy time to call

The least busy day to call Stream Energy is Saturday. The most busy day to call is Monday, which averages 368% more phone calls by comparison. Again, this is based on a sample of 335 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

The shortest wait on hold

We measured the shortest hold times to be on Thursday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Friday.
But if you use our free call and talk for me or wait on hold for me service, you don't really need to worry about average wait times.

The best time to call Stream Energy

In summation, the best day to call Stream Energy is Thursday. It isn't the least busy day, but the fact that hold times are shortest combined with it being on the busy side tells us that Stream Energy staffs up on Thursday to handle the higher call volume, and that makes it the best time to call.

Getting through this number was actually really easy. I had no issues navigating the online system, nor did I have any problems with getting someone on the phone. When I called Stream Energy, I was first taken to the automated system, where I was asked whether I was calling to report a power outage or for some other reason.

If you're reporting an outage, you're told to press 1; otherwise, you can either press 2 or remain on the line. Next, I was asked if I was calling about service in Georgia or somewhere else. Although it seemed odd that it would single out Georgia when it also serves Texas and several mid-Atlantic states, I opted for Georgia.

I was then transferred to the next menu and asked why I was calling. I was given several options to choose from, including paying my bill and setting up services. I opted for setting up services and was connected to a representative within minutes. When connected, I said that I was going to be moving to a new address soon and wanted to make sure that I could get services set up.

She said that wouldn't be an issue and that I could get services set up before I moved into my address. I said that I didn't yet have an address, and she told me I would need an address before we could set up services. I asked if I should call back when I had an address, and she told me that I could either do that or I could have Stream call me back when I had an address. She added that I would need to make a deposit when I set up services, with the amount determined when my information was processed.

Based on this interaction, I would use this number if I needed assistance.
