Deleting a YouTube Movie
First, it's important to note that you can only delete videos uploaded to your channel. You cannot remove content created and uploaded by another person. You also cannot replace a video with a new one since each upload gets its own unique URL.
Deleting Videos Via Computer
To delete a video from your YouTube channel on your computer, follow the steps listed below.
- Open YouTube's website in your browser.
- Log into your channel at YouTube Studio.
- Select "Content" from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
- Click on the video you wish to delete and select "Delete Forever."
- You will need to confirm you are aware this will permanently remove the video from the platform.
- Click "Delete Forever" to complete the process.
Deleting Videos Via Mobile Device
You can also delete videos from your channel using your phone or tablet. Follow these steps which work for both Android devices and iPhones and iPads:
- Open the YouTube app on your phone or tablet.
- Log into your account.
- Select "Library" from the menu options.
- Go to "Your Videos."
- Tap the three dots beside the video you wish to delete.
- Select "Delete" from the menu that pops up on the screen.
- Confirm you wish to delete the movie to permanently remove it from your channel.
As a reminder, deleting videos is permanent, so make sure you have a backup of the video if you wish to upload it again later. You can only delete your content, not that of someone else.
