What You'll Need

Account members are not responsible for paying the account's bills. However, they are able to make a payment if they wish to do so.Account members can typically check on the account's data, voice, and text usage, though this can vary depending on the kind of plan your account has.You can make a new authorized user into an account manager, if you wish. Account managers can do anything the account owner can do, including making purchases on the account, except for changing the billing password. Your account can have up to three account managers at a time.Only the account owner can add new members or new account managers to the account.

Go to the Verizon home page.

Click on the Sign In link in the upper right corner to sign in to your Verizon account.

Select the Profile Settings option from the account menu on the right.

Select the Family Profiles option from the menu on the left.

If you want to add the new authorized user as an account manager instead of an account member, skip to step 6.

Follow the prompts to finish adding a new member to your account.

This person will be sent an invitation once you do. The process will not be complete until they receive this email and follow the instructions in it.

Select the Account Managers option from the menu on the left.

If you have not yet set up a billing password, set one up when prompted.

The new account manager will need this password.

Enter the name of the new account manager in the text fields provided.

If the new account manager has a phone line on your account already, select it here.

If not, select No Line Assigned. You can always assign a line to them later, if you wish, but they are not required to have one to be an account manager.

Enter the new account manager's email address.

Click on Add Manager.

Review the terms and conditions for new account managers that you are shown.

Click on the Continue button.

Select a phone number to get a verification code at.

Check the phone for your verification code and enter it in the spaces provided.

Click on the Confirm button.

Conclusion

Adding either a new account member or account manager is a fairly straightforward process. However, if anything goes wrong, call a Verizon customer service representative for help. The customer service center is open on weekdays from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm EST and on weekends from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm EST. It might be best to call during normal business hours, though, if possible, because people from other departments might be needed to solve the problem.
