How Do I Change the Language on an Ubisoft Game?

Language can make or break a game. If you're playing an Ubisoft game, and want to change the language of that game, there are several options you can try. First, find out what languages are supported by that game — if no support in your current language, you'll want to try changing the language of the Ubisoft game to one of the ones supported by the game.

Are you trying to get your Ubisoft game to work in another language? Are you getting an Uplay Has Encountered a Problem and Needs To Close error message when trying to do so? The solution isn't that hard, especially if it's your first time using a different language on Uplay. This guide will give you the steps to change the language of the selected Ubisoft game.

Open the Uplay Client

The first step is to open the Uplay Client. You can find it in your taskbar or start menu if it is not already running.

Select My Games

  • Go to the games tab, then select My Games.
  • Select your game and click on Language in its menu.
  • On the following page, select the language you want your game to be in.
  • There may be no option for that specific language if it is not there.

Look for Your Game in the List

Selecting My Games will display all Ubisoft games installed on your computer. You can also search for specific titles by typing their name into the search bar.

Select Properties

  • Right-click on your game and select Properties.
  • You will see a window with two tabs, General and Local Files.
  • Click on the second tab, Local Files.
  • In this new window, you will find some more options.

Click on Show Game Launcher

  • In the new window that appeared, click on Show Game Launcher.

The game launcher is a window that appears when you start a game.

Select Settings

Next, you will want to select Settings. The language menu is located on the top right side of the screen and has a dropdown menu next to it.

  • In the Uplay client, click on the Settings menu.
  • Click on Language.
  • Once in Language settings, select your desired language from the dropdown menu.

Click on Save and Confirm

  • Click Save if you want to save these changes permanently or Cancel if not (you can always change it later).
  • The saving process may take some time and depends on your internet connection speed and server load.
  • A new window will open with a confirmation message: You have changed the language of Ubisoft products.
  • You must confirm that you want to change your language settings by clicking Accept at the bottom of this window.
