If you bank with TD Bank, you can make sure you never forget to pay a bill on time again by setting up recurring transfers to regularly and automatically send money from your TD Bank account to one at a different bank. To learn how to set up automatic transfers, read on.

ACH Transfer Basics

You may be familiar with wire transfers, which are electronic transfers that go directly from one bank to another. An ACH transfer is very similar but, instead of going directly from one bank to another, it gets processed by a third party clearinghouse as part of a large batch of transfers all done at the same time. Because of this third party involvement, an ACH transfer is not as fast as a wire transfer. However, it is a lot cheaper. For recurring TD Bank transfers, it's always free. You can also set up an ACH transfer to happen on a recurring basis.
