What are the hours and when should I call?
TD Bank operates the call center for this 800-937-2000 phone number 24 hours, 7 days. The short answer is that you should call on a Tuesday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 1,250 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
When you use our free AI-powered phone to call and talk, wait on hold, or navigate for you, it will automatically wait until the TD Bank call center opens before trying to call. It will ask your permission before it places the call, so you can also further delay that scheduled call until you are ready. But that means you can "set it and forget it" ahead of time.
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this TD Bank phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like TD Bank staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

Calling TD Bank is fairly straightforward, as this number can be used at any time of day, seven days a week. If you're a TD customer, you'll need to enter in your debit card number or your account number to proceed with banking over the phone. If you're not a TD customer, you still have options to get information.
When I called, I first waited through the opening request for my information, as I was not a TD customer. After a minute, the system said that if I needed a minute to get the number, I could press 1; otherwise, I could press 2 to do something else. I chose 2, and the system took me to a menu where I could choose several options, including opening a new account, getting banking hours and checking a routing number.
I opted to check banking hours and was told that most TD locations had the same hours for Monday-Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If I needed information about a specific branch, I was encouraged to either visit TD's website or check through their application. After getting that information, I waited to see what the system would do.
I was told that I could either repeat the message by pressing 1 or go back to the main menu by pressing 2. I went back to the main menu, and I opted for routing numbers. The system said my routing number would be different based on where the account had been opened. It then ran through a list of states to check, going through six states before saying I could press 7 if my state wasn't listed. Upon doing that, it offered six more choices.
Based on this, I would feel very comfortable using this number. The system is helpful and easy to navigate, making it easy to find the information you need.
