Introduction

If you just got a new phone then you probably want to transfer your SIM to your new phone. After all, your SIM is what identifies your device to your phone company as belonging to your account, and it is where so much of your personal information is stored. If you have a Straight Talk account, there are a couple of different ways you have of doing this, depending on what type of SIM card you have.

What You'll Need

Please note that not every SIM card will fit every phone. A nano SIM, for example, won't fit into a tray designed for a micro SIM. Also, some Straight Talk phones use eSIMs instead of physical SIMS.

Turn off both your old phone and your new phone.

To transfer an eSIM, skip to step 16.

Locate your phones' SIM trays.

The location, if it is not obvious, should be in your phone's manual.

Open both trays using a pin, small paperclip, or SIM tool to push into the SIM tray hole.

Take the SIM card out of your old phone and put it into your new phone.

Close both SIM trays in accordance with their instruction manuals.

Turn your new phone on.

Go to Straight Talk's home page.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Straight Talk Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
