How Do I Cancel an Order on Overstock?

If you ordered something from Overstock and realized only too late that you shouldn't have, you are probably wondering how to cancel the order. It is possible to cancel an order from Overstock, but you have to move fast. The cancellation window is very small.

What You'll Need

Once you place your window, you can easily cancel it as long as you do so before the order is processed and accepted by the Overstock warehouse. This generally takes about 60 minutes or less, so you have to act fast.If you do not cancel it in time, you will still be able to request a cancellation, but it will only be granted at the company's discretion. It depends on precisely what you ordered and how far along it has got in the fulfillment process.

Go to the Overstock home page.

Mouse over the Account icon in the upper right corner of the screen and click on the Sign In link in the drop down menu.

Sign in to your Overstock account.

Go to your My Account page.

Locate the order that you want to cancel.

Look for a Cancel Order button in the upper left corner of the order information, under the order date and price.

If it is still there, you are still inside the cancellation window. Proceed with the next step to finish canceling your order. If the button is not there, you are too late to cancel it yourself. Skip to step 9.

Click on the Cancel Order button.

Alternatively, you can cancel certain items from the order while allowing the rest of the items to be delivered by clicking on the Cancel Item button next to those items.

Click the Submit Cancellation button.

A confirmation screen should appear, telling you that you have successfully canceled the order or certain items from the order.
Stop here and do not proceed with the subsequent steps.

Press the Request Cancel button next to each item in the order.

There is no way to request a cancellation for the whole order, you have to do it one item at a time. Doing this will send a request to the company to cancel the order even if the cancellation window has closed. If the items have not yet shipped, the company may grant your request. You should see a confirmation page to notify you that your request has been sent.

Check the email associated with your Overstock account.

The company will send you an email notification once it has decided how to respond to your cancellation request.
