Marriott Hotels offers travelers comfortable rooms in locations around the globe, but when your travel plans fall through, you need to know how to cancel your stay. Canceling a Stay at Marriott

You have three main options to cancel your hotel reservation with Marriott: online, via the Marriott app, and by calling its customer support team.

Online Cancellations

The steps to cancel a trip differ slightly for Bonvoy Members and those who do not subscribe to the reward program.

Bonvoy Members

As a Bonvoy Member you can cancel your trip by doing the following:

  1. Open the Marriott website on your computer.
  2. Log into your account.
  3. Click on "My Trips" to find the stay that needs to be cancelled.
  4. Select the trip to cancel, and click on "Details."
  5. Choose "Cancel."
  6. Confirm the cancellation by clicking "Yes."
  7. Note the cancellation confirmation number for your records.

Non-Bonvoy Members

As a non-reward member you will need to do the following:

  1. Open the Marriott website on your computer.
  2. Select "My Trips."
  3. Enter your reservation number "Look up a Reservation" box.
  4. Click "Cancel Room."
  5. Confirm you want to cancel by clicking "Yes."
  6. Note the cancellation confirmation number for your records.

Canceling Via the Mobile App

Cancellations can also be done using your tablet or phone by doing the following:

iPhone Users

  1. Open the app on your phone.
  2. Log into your Bonvoy Account account.
  3. Select "Trips."
  4. Tap the reservation you are canceling.
  5. Open the menu in the upper right-hand corner.
  6. Select "Cancel Reservation."
  7. Tap "Yes" to confirm.
  8. Note the cancellation confirmation number for your records.

Android Users

  1. Open the app on your phone.
  2. Log into your Bonvoy Account account.
  3. Select "Trips."
  4. Tap the reservation you are canceling.
  5. Go to "Reservation Details."
  6. Choose "Cancel Reservation."
  7. Select "Continue" in the window that opens.
  8. Note the cancellation confirmation number for your records.

Telephone Cancellations

You can also call customer support here to cancel your upcoming stay at Marriott. It is important to note the cancellation policy when making your reservation to make sure you will not incur fees or penalties.
