How do I send a wire from my JP Morgan Chase account?

Nov 13, 2023

How to Wire Money

A JP Morgan Chase account allows you to wire money within the U.S. and internationally. The process is straightforward with these steps:

1. Sign Into Your Account

The first step entails visiting the company website and logging into your account to access JP Morgan Chase online services. The JP Morgan Chase online account allows you to manage your accounts, view activity and statements and transfer funds. To enhance the convenience of mobile banking, you can download the Chase mobile app.

2. Find “Wires & Global Transfers”

Once logged in to your account, click the “Pay & Transfer” section on your dashboard. Next, find the “Wires and Global Transfers” and click on it. This opens up a new page where you can initiate the wire transfer process. Take your time to read the terms and conditions, then click the check box to agree with the terms. Next, you’ll be prompted to select the account for the wire transfer. Choose your account and click “Next” to proceed.

3. Add Recipient

You must then add the wire transfer recipient’s information. To do this, click the “Add Recipient” button, and a section pops up where you must fill in the recipient’s information, including the bank account details. Pay attention when adding the account number to avoid any transfer issues. It’s essential to cross-check the recipient’s information to ensure accuracy, then click “Next.” To complete the process of adding a recipient, JP Morgan Chase must send you an activation code. The platform prompts you to choose a phone number you’d like to receive the activation code for adding a recipient. Submit an active mobile number, then proceed.

4. Verify the Activation Code

JP Morgan Chase sends you an activation code through the number you submitted to secure the wire transfer process. Type the code in the newly designated field and submit it for verification. The platform automatically presents you with tips to help protect yourself from fraud. The customer support team encourages clients to stay vigilant during the wire transfer process to avoid mistakes that may lead to losses of funds. After familiarizing yourself with the tips, click “Next.”

5. Review and Confirm the Recipient’s Information

To ensure that the information you’ve provided is accurate and complete, you must confirm the details you filled. Ensure you have a reference material such as a receipt or an invoice containing the recipient’s details. Once everything’s correct, finalize the process by clicking “Add Recipient.” If you’ve previously sent wires from your JP Morgan Chase account, you can import the recipients by selecting “Import Unsaved Recipients.”

6. Make the Wire Transfer

During the final steps of the transfer, you’ll indicate whether you’d like to set the wire as a repeating activity. Make a decision depending on your preference and enter the date for the transfer and the wire amount. If any additional information is required, ensure to fill it out. Wires are non-reversible, so review the details carefully before completing the process. To finalize, click “Schedule Wire.”

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for JPMorgan Chase Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
