Can you access the Direct Express website or mobile app? If so, we recommend enabling the card lock feature as soon as you realize your card is lost. To do this, sign in to your account by entering your User ID and password, then click Log In.
You can see this option in the card picture on the app. Next, click Actions and enable the card lock feature to help prevent unauthorized transactions while your card is missing.
To help prevent unauthorized access, tap Lock Card. Once the feature is enabled, you'll see Card Is Locked displayed below the image of your Direct Express card in the app, confirming that the card has been locked.
After locking your card, the next step is to request a replacement card. To request a card replacement, proceed to the next step.
Tap on the lock/unlock card option to see the Order a Card Replacement feature. Click on this option to request a new card. Just follow the on-screen instructions to request a replacement card from Direct Express.
Direct Express offers one free card replacement per calendar year. If you've already requested a replacement card for the current calendar year, expect to pay a fee for the new card. Standard shipping is free for replacement cards, but expedited shipping is also available if you need your card as soon as possible. Replacement cards usually arrive within 7-10 days.
For cardholders without an online account, please proceed to the next step.
Having an online account with Direct Express is optional and allows cardholders to manage their accounts online. If you don't have an online account, call Direct Express Customer Service directly to report your lost card. A toll-free customer service number is available around the clock, allowing you to report the lost card at any time.
When speaking with the representative, report your card as permanently lost so it can be deactivated and a replacement card is processed. Please note that you'll need to verify your identity before Direct Express can deactivate your card and process your replacement request.
Were you able to report your Direct Express card as lost? The next step is to request a replacement card, and once it arrives, activate it so you can begin using your debit card again. Be sure to keep your PIN secure by never sharing it with anyone. We also recommend reviewing your transaction history for any unauthorized withdrawals or transfers and reporting them to Direct Express as soon as possible so they can help you recover your funds. GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
