The Direct Express prepaid card is used to receive federal benefit payments, including Social Security, pensions, veterans' benefits, and other federal payments. In addition to withdrawing cash, you can also use your card to make purchases online or at any store that accepts Debit Mastercard. If your card is lost or stolen, be sure to lock it, if possible, before requesting a replacement. Then, contact Direct Express Customer Service to report the missing card and request a replacement. If you haven't requested a replacement card during the current calendar year, you won't be charged a replacement fee.
If your card is damaged, call the customer service number printed on the back of the card to request a replacement. During the process, you'll need to verify your identity before Direct Express can issue a new card. If your identity cannot be verified, your replacement card request may be delayed until verification is completed.
You can also request a replacement card by signing in to your account on the website or the app. Be sure to select the right card before signing in. To log in, just enter your user ID and password.
If your card has been lost or stolen, lock it as soon as possible to help protect your account. Once your card is locked, Direct Express will no longer authorize new purchases, cash withdrawals, bank transfers, or over-the-counter cash withdrawals using that card. After locking your card, click Order a Replacement Card and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your request.
Please contact Direct Express if you've lost your debit card. We also recommend checking your transaction history for any suspicious activities. If you see a transfer or charge you didn't make, please report it to them immediately. Transfers must be reported within 120 days, or you may no longer be able to recover your money. Direct Express will only extend the deadline of 120 days if you were hospitalized, on a long trip, or are seriously ill. To report the unauthorized transaction, call Direct Express directly.
Were you able to request a Direct Express replacement card? If your card is about to expire, you don't need to contact Direct Express. A replacement card will be mailed to you before your current card expires. You only need to contact the customer service team if you haven't received your replacement card after the expiration month. As mentioned, standard shipping, which takes 7 to 10 days, is free. If you need your replacement card sooner, expedited shipping is available for an additional fee. GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
