Introduction

If you use Coinbase to buy and sell cryptocurrency and find that your Coinbase account has developed some sort of problem, you are probably highly anxious to get the problem fixed. The exact nature of your solution will depend on what kind of problem you are dealing with.

What You'll Need

The most common problems with Coinbase accounts include:Problems signing inDevice errorsAccount restrictionsCard problems

Go to the Coinbase home page to start the process of regaining access to your account.

Coinbase home page
If you are not having problems signing in, choose one of these options:
If a device error is your problem, skip to step 5.
If account restrictions are your problem, skip to step 8.
If it's the card you are using for payments that is the problem, skip to step 9.
For all other problems, skip to step 11.

Click the Sign In link in the upper right corner of the page.

Enter your email address in the text field provided and click on the Continue button.

Click on the "Forgot password?" link and follow the prompts to get help regaining access to your account.

If this does not work, skip to step 11.

Clear your browser's cache and cookies.

Your device problems could be due to outdated cache items and problematic cookies, and clearing them could fix the problem.

If that didn't work, try disabling VPNs and ad blockers.

If this doesn't help either, skip to step 11.

If you are using a security key device for logging in with two factor authentication and it is not working properly, try the following:

Check that you are using a browser that supports your device. Also check that browser prompts are allowed. You should check the device's physical connections, as well.

Sign in to your account and look for notifications about account restrictions.

Follow the instructions to get the restrictions removed from your account. In most cases, you won't have to so anything other than wait while Coinbase investigates something, such as unusual account activity.
If you still have problems, skip to step 11.

Make sure that the card you are using for payments is not a prepaid card or a business card.

Coinbase does not accept these types of cards as valid payment methods. If your card is one of them, you will need to use a different payment method.

Check with your bank to make sure that they have not reversed any transactions to Coinbase.

If they have, the problem must be solved with your bank, not Coinbase.

If your problem cannot be solved with any of the procedures described above, call a Coinbase customer service agent for help.

Describe the nature of the problem and the steps you have taken so far to resolve it.

Conclusion

Coinbase customer service agents should be able to help you fix almost any problem you encounter with your account. You can reach a Coinbase customer service agent 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Coinbase Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
