If you do your banking with Citigroup's primary commercial bank, Citibank, then you may want to take advantage of its bill payment tool. With AutoPay, Citibank will make your payments for you, with the money simply transferred out of your account when the bill comes due. Keep on reading to learn how to do that.

How to Make Bill Payments With the App

You can make bill payments with the Citibank app. Follow this procedure:

  1. Open the Citibank app.
  2. Select Payments or Move Money.
  3. Select Manage AutoPay.
  4. Select your payee from the linked payee menu. If you haven't linked your payee's account with your Citibank account with, tap on Add New Payment Account, enter the required payment information, tap on Manage AutoPay, and select your payee from the list.
  5. Select a payment type.
  6. Choose the number of payments to make each billing cycle.
  7. Enter a payment start date.
  8. Tap on Submit.
  9. Read all of the terms and conditions.
  10. Tap the Agree button.

This procedure works for both the iOS and the Android versions of the Citibank app.

How to Make Bill Payments Online

You can also make bill payments using your desktop or laptop. Just follow this procedure:

  1. Go to Citibank's website.
  2. Sign into your Citibank account.
  3. Click Payments in the navigation menu at the top of the screen.
  4. Click Manage AutoPay in the navigation menu on the left.
  5. Find your payee in the linked payee list. If haven't linked your payee's account to your Citibank account then click on Add a New Payment Account. Next, click the Leave This Page option. Enter the required details. Click Manage AutoPay, and then click on your payee.
  6. Choose a payment type.
  7. Set a number of payments for each billing cycle. By breaking up the bill into multiple payments, you ensure you always have enough money in your account.
  8. Enter a payment start date.
  9. Click on Continue.
  10. Read all of the terms and conditions.
  11. Click Enroll.
