There are a number of exchanges dedicated to cryptocurrency, and traders switch exchanges all the time. If you are currently with Binance but thinking of switching exchanges, noticing suspicious activity on your account or getting out of crypto trading altogether, you need to know how to close your account.

How do you close your account on Binance? You can find out more about Binance account management by contacting customer support here, and below is the information you need to close your account.

Closing/Disabling Account

If you are not quite ready to cut all ties with Binance, you can disable your account. This essentially freezes it but doesn't remove your information from the database. Therefore, if you want to go back to Binance, you can contact customer support here to reopen the account. To disable/close your account follow these steps:

  1. Open the Binance account on your mobile device and log in.
  2. Tap on "Account."
  3. Choose "Security" then "Disable Account."
  4. Review the reminders regarding disabling your account carefully before proceeding. These reminders let you know that the following features will be unavailable when you disable your account:
    • Pending withdrawals will be canceled.
    • Trading capabilities will be disabled.
    • Any API keys will be deleted.
    • Any devices for the account will also be deleted.
    • Customer support must be contacted to reopen the account.
  5. Tap "Disable this account" to complete the process.

Deleting Account

If you know you aren't going to return to Binance, you can delete your account which erases your information from its system permanently. To delete your account, do the following steps:

  1. Open Binance and log into your account.
  2. Go to "Account" and "Security."
  3. Select "Disable Account."
  4. You can select from two options "Disable" or "Delete" account. Choose "Delete this Account."
  5. Enter your phone number or email address attached to your account.
  6. Confirm "Delete to Confirm."

Notes About Closing/Deleting Your Account

Before you close or delete your account, make sure all pending transactions/withdrawals are completed. Binance doesn't recommend deleting your account entirely. So, it gives you the option to disable/close the account and leave the information on file. Once you delete your account, you cannot recover the information. However, you can reinstate a disabled account. For more information on Binance account management or closing/deleting your account, contact customer support here.
