Introduction

You can make changes to your Air Canada flight using your booking reference number or by calling the airline directly. Some changes you can make include changing a departure or destination, selecting a different fare, adding another itinerary, choosing seats, adjusting the flight time, purchasing a voucher or lounge access, or canceling the entire booking. You also don't need to sign in to your Air Canada account, as long as you have the booking reference number and the surname of the passenger. Do you wish to amend your flight? Read this helpful guide.

Go To Air Canada's Manage Booking Page

Use this link: https://www.aircanada.com/home/ca/en/aco/trips

Enter your booking reference or ticket number and surname. Then click Search to find your Air Canada booking, where you can make certain changes.

Make Changes to Your Flight

It's possible to cancel your flight when it's booked directly through Air Canada. If not, a message will pop up saying, "it's not possible to cancel this flight", and you may need to contact your travel agent or 3rd party website, where the flight was booked.

If you wish to add or change seats, click Add/Change Seats and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also explore other options by clicking on Travel Options. There you may find an option to buy a meal for your flight.

Note: It's not possible to change passenger information online. However, you can contact Air Canada directly before midnight, local time, on the day you booked the flight, for a change of dates or names. When the fare increases, pay the difference or refund the ticket. It's advised to always check the itinerary after completing the booking to avoid issues with your Air Canada flight and to prevent incurring additional fees.

Pick a Seat

Preferred seats cost more than standard seats because they offer extra legroom. Point the cursor to each seat to see how much it costs and click on a seat you wish to purchase. Click Next Flight to pick a seat for your next flight.

Click Continue to Summary to Pay for Your Seats

Click Continue to Get to the Payment Method

Just fill out the payment details and follow the on-screen instructions to purchase your seats successfully.

Call Air Canada Directly

You can also contact Air Canada's contact centers when amending your flight booked directly through them. Contact Air Canada Vacations if your tickets were purchased through them or the directory to get the right contact information for your country.

When your flight is either cancelled or delayed by Air Canada, check your phone for an email or text message from them, as they may have already rebooked you on the next available flight. You may also be given an option to get a refund if you don't like the flight offered by Air Canada.

Conclusion

While you can make many changes to your Air Canada flight with your reference number, it's not possible to make any special requests online, such as a special meal or accessibility assistance. To do this, you will need to contact Air Canada directly. For passengers who booked their flight via a third party or through their travel agent, it's best to contact them if you're unable to make certain changes to your booking, like rebooking a flight (when there's a major delay). Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Air Canada Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
