Dear YouTube,
I am expressing my concerns about the new guidelines surrounding content geared towards children. The criteria appear broad and unfairly impact predominantly female creators. Many popular DIY and Craft channels are run by women. Art, crafts, DIY projects, and toy customization shouldn't be automatically classified as child-oriented simply because they're playful. Male DIY creators often work with materials like metal and wood that are seen as more mature, avoiding the "childish" label. This parallels the broader issue of pay disparities between genders in various fields. I am urging you to view fine arts, crafts, and customizations as forms of art and education suitable for all ages. The presentation of content should hold more weight than the subject itself. For instance, a squishy toy can be used for play or turned into a unique piece of art. Reviews of craft kits may cater to children but also help consumers make informed purchasing choices. The presentation and context of the content matter more than the actual items featured. Dolls in a video might be seen as toys, but doll customization is a form of artistic expression. I ask you to consider the impact on my favorite creators, mainly female artists, crafters, and DIYers who face the risk of having their talents dismissed as "childish." Please, don't treat all creators alike in this matter. The distinction between celebrating geek culture and appealing to children lies in how the content is presented, not just the subject matter itself. Let's not take the easy way out or penalize those passionate about crafting or DIY projects.
Sincerely, [First Name Initial]

Yesterday, I received a misleading email and unfortunately fell for it. My YouTube channel was hacked and now I can no longer access it. I changed my Gmail password, but when I checked the next day, my channel was gone, although it's still visible with a different cover photo. I am devastated as I put a lot of effort into building my channel. Here is the link to my channel [redacted]. However, it now seems to belong to someone else. Despite being a small channel, I am reaching out for help.

Some videos have different closed caption settings. For example, "Subtitles/CC (1)" displays captions one word at a time, scrolling up one line at a time. This can be distracting. Another setting, "Subtitles/CC (2)", shows whole lines of captions at a time. It is less disruptive as the entire line appears and disappears. Unfortunately, not all videos have this option. You can try turning off the captions or setting them to "English auto-generated." It's frustrating when you can't find the preferred setting on all videos. It can be confusing searching for answers online. Thank you for any assistance in finding a solution to make captions appear without scrolling.

Dear YouTube,
I am expressing my concerns regarding the new guidelines on content that may appeal to children. The criteria appear to disproportionately affect female creators, especially in areas like DIY, crafts, and toy customization. While many of the top channels in these categories are led by women, their content is not inherently made for children just because it is creative and fun. In contrast, male creators working with materials like metal and wood are seen as more "serious" and would not face the same scrutiny. This disparity parallels broader gender pay gaps in various industries, where female creators often earn less than their male counterparts. I urge you to recognize that arts, crafts, and customizations can be considered art forms suitable for all ages, depending on presentation. For instance, a craft project can be a fun activity for kids or a helpful review for adult consumers. The way content is framed should matter more than the objects featured. Dolls in a video may seem like child's play, but doll customization is a form of artistic expression. Let's not unfairly categorize all creators; let's focus on the context and delivery of the content rather than a general assumption. I hope you will reconsider these guidelines to support diverse creators, especially talented women in the artistic and DIY communities.

Hello there,
I'm facing an issue with my channel as I've been uploading consistently, but I'm not receiving notifications when someone comments. Additionally, my content isn't being suggested on the platform.
I've made sure to adhere to YouTube guidelines, ensuring that my content is appropriate, entertaining, informative, and genuine. If my channel is suggested more, it would help reach a wider audience. I prefer not to promote my content by commenting on other creators' videos. Despite properly tagging my videos, I'm still facing these challenges and I'm unsure of the cause. I appreciate your time in reading this message, though I'm uncertain if I'll receive a response. Thank you.

I need assistance.
This is my second time reporting an issue.
The following was sent to Google from my alternative Gmail to [redacted]:
Regarding Google account: [redacted]
Recently, my PC was attacked by .todar ransomware on 07/24/[redacted] in India. The hacker encrypted all my data and demanded $[redacted] for decryption. Despite my efforts to recover my files, I failed and had to reset my PC. Subsequently, the hacker accessed my Gmail on 07/25/[redacted] and deleted my account.
I have a YouTube channel linked to [redacted] named Ultimate Virus, where my contact number is available in the description for verification. This Gmail account is crucial as it contains my contacts, calendar events, and drive files used across various sites and games.
I then recovered my account within a week, but the hacker interfered with my YouTube, resulting in the termination of my channel.
Please help me recover my YouTube channel "Ultimate Virus" associated with [redacted], as the hacker altered the channel's name and link. The hacker also changed my email address to [redacted].
Proof of ownership for the channel:
1. My name in the email address.

3. My contact number ([redacted]) in the channel description.
4. My name stated in the description.
Thank you for your help.

I'm unsure if this will reach anyone who can take action, but I hope it does. I spend more time on YouTube than watching TV or other apps and have noticed many creators heavily promote themselves, asking viewers to like, comment, subscribe, and hit the bell for notifications. It seems like this has become a significant part of their income stream. I've observed that the number of likes is usually much lower than the views, causing stress for some channels worrying about sustainability. Here's my suggestion: would it be possible to have a feature that automatically likes a channel's videos? Personally, I watch numerous videos in a row and don't individually like each one, even if I enjoyed it, especially when using a console. I believe many others would appreciate this feature too, ensuring support for channels we follow. This idea is based on the assumption that likes directly impact creators' earnings or provide them with consistent engagement. I hope this proposal sparks some interest and is not a waste of anyone's time. Just some food for thought. Thank you.

My account was mistakenly suspended or permanently disabled for unintentionally violating YouTube's Community Guidelines & Policies. This occurred when I joined a livestream on the GTLive channel. I made multiple comments in the "Top Chat" before switching to "Live Chat" to ask MatPat for a theory video suggestion. After the stream, I left positive comments on their video. The next day, my account was suspended. I admit my error, and it's my first offense. Please review my case and consider restoring my account; I would be grateful for one more chance.
Best,
Epic

My account was mistakenly suspended or permanently disabled on YouTube, although I did not intend to violate any Community Guidelines or Policies. I was watching a livestream by GTLive and posted a few comments in the chat. I then switched to Live Chat and suggested a theory video about Life is Strange: Before the Storm & Life is Strange 2 to MatPat. Later, I left positive comments on their video upon rewatching it. The next day, I found my account suspended, which was unintentional and a first-time offense. I kindly request a review to reinstate my account, and I would greatly appreciate assistance from the YouTube Team to resolve this issue.
Sincerely,
Nick

Grim Grim, also known as Steven Malcolm, is claiming ownership of my channel, Hotmelinda Paranormal Damon Broadcast. However, he is not the rightful owner. I started my channel on August 30, [redacted], and it was wrongfully taken away from me. I refuse to hand over my channel to a complete stranger who has been making threats towards me. He has even hacked into YouTube's system to copy and clone my channel. I reside in the USA, while he is in the United Kingdom. He has falsely informed the FBI and threatened to have me arrested because he desires to take over my channel, which he has no right or permission to do. I am determined to press charges and retain ownership of my channel, seeking assistance to stop the cloning and copying that has caused me distress. Sincerely, Melinda Damon.

I have noticed a sudden change in the brightness of YouTube thumbnail pictures on my browser. Dark thumbnails appear gray and dull, while bright objects like lamps look distorted. This has affected my browsing experience and is straining on the eyes.
The issue is visible across all thumbnails on YouTube, including search results, recommendations, and playlist videos on any account.
I am unsure what caused this change or how to fix it. Could it be a setting or an update? I am looking for a way to revert the thumbnails back to their original state for a better viewing experience. Any guidance on resolving this would be appreciated.

While watching a video titled "What Happened to Atlantis" on the "Origins Explained" channel on YouTube, I noticed a discrepancy at thirty-five seconds in. The video discussed the destruction of a village named Ber'am on the island of Santorini due to a volcano, but displayed images of a different village destroyed by Israeli forces. At one minute, they showcased Ber'am again. This mistake is significant as it involves a sensitive issue affecting people's homes - a matter I am personally familiar with as someone impacted. Please address this error in the video promptly. Thank you.

Before proceeding, I wanted to clarify if it is permissible to do so or if it violates any copyright regulations. Your advice on the appropriate course of action would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello, my name is Douglas Robinson Jr. I'm in the process of starting a YouTube channel and have hit a snag. I've used the gamertag DoomNation159 on Xbox for 8-10 years and wanted to use DoomNation as my channel name. I discovered other channels with the same name, most of them inactive for 3+ years. One active channel seems to be a music collection. I considered keeping the "[redacted]" but learned numbers are seen as unprofessional in channel names. Would using DoomNation pose a risk of account termination once I gain visibility, or should I persist in finding a different name? I appreciate your honest input to ease my worry. I apologize for involving you, but I needed a reliable opinion on this matter. Thank you for listening.

I signed up for the YouTube TV trial for the first time two days ago, using my PayPal account. However, my PayPal balance is now -$77.76. Could you please cancel my trial and issue a refund promptly? I believe the issue might have occurred because I initially attempted to sign up using a different PayPal card that caused my account to be "locked." Subsequently, I logged into another Gmail account and used the correct PayPal information. Even though it indicated that I had already used the trial, I had never used YouTube TV before. Please process the refund and cancellation urgently as my PayPal account is currently inaccessible. I would appreciate it if this could be resolved by today, Friday the 27th. Thank you for your assistance.

My Gmail and YouTube account, which share the same email, were suspended. Although I regained access to my email without an explanation, my appeal to restore my YouTube account was denied. I am puzzled by the suspension as I have not posted any videos, commented on others' content, and have only watched blacksmithing videos recently. I am unsure why this action was taken, especially with two-step verification in place on my account and no signs of unauthorized access. It would be beneficial to know the reason for the suspension to prevent similar issues in the future. Thank you.

I am a content creator on YouTube under the name MRREDNBLACK. I have been facing issues with harassment by YouTube regarding a violation from a year ago involving a misguided sexual content claim involving my cat Larry. They have denied my second appeal, despite my innocence. Recently, I am being harassed by others, and I am unsure if this is connected to my previous issue. I request assistance as I am locked out of my account and unable to address these problems. Being a person with a disability, I feel unjustly targeted and need help to regain access to my channel.

I understand the frustration about the recent changes affecting content creators on YouTube, particularly those catering to children or featuring toys. The limitations on comments, likes, personalized ads, lack of recommendations, and notification issues are causing distress within communities like LPS and MLP. It is clear that these changes are impacting both viewers and creators alike. There is a concern that such restrictions may lead to the decline of these channels and ultimately the loss of valuable content enjoyed by many. It is vital to address these issues in a way that preserves these communities and ensures the sustainability of their creative endeavors. Finding a solution that supports these channels without stifling their growth is essential to maintain a diverse range of content options for viewers, especially children.

Dear Team,
I wanted to update you on the situation with my YouTube account that was hijacked on August 14, [redacted]. We have been communicating regarding the efforts to regain control from the hijacker. Recently, the hijacker uploaded multiple videos that violated YouTube's standards, which were subsequently removed.
All videos removed from my account were uploaded by the hijacker, and I bear no responsibility for them. Despite the ongoing efforts, I have not yet regained control of my YouTube account. I kindly request your continued assistance in this matter.
Following the latest correspondence from "[redacted]," I have created a new channel as instructed. The next step involves obtaining "their" brand name, which I believe should be provided by YouTube since we are partners.
Given that YouTube has acknowledged the hijacking, I am unsure why additional steps are necessary on my part. Please provide detailed instructions on any further actions required from me.
I kindly ask for your prompt intervention to restore control of my account.
