I recently received a text message from "Yahoo" informing me about a new login to my account from a Windows device. Since I had just logged into my Xbox, which is connected to my Yahoo email, I thought it triggered the message. After confirming it was me, I was asked for an account key and then to create a 6-digit pin, which I did. However, I later got another text saying my "recovery email has been changed," despite not accessing my Yahoo settings for months. I use two Yahoo emails for my active Instagram accounts, but I'm unsure which one was affected. I'm worried about a potential hacking attempt on my accounts. The Yahoo emails in question are [redacted] and [redacted] Thank you.

I am experiencing an issue with accessing my Yahoo email account [redacted] I changed my password while traveling on a different computer a few years ago due to a security alert but failed to remember it. Consequently, I'm unable to log in and need access as my Facebook is linked to this email. I wish to update my Facebook settings to use my Gmail instead. Despite attempting the "I Forgot my password" option, I cannot recall the answers to the security questions. I have a faint recollection of possibly not setting up the security questions when I created the account 14-15 years ago. Is there a way to retrieve access to my Yahoo account and reset the password?

Our computer systems have been breached, and we successfully removed the Trojan from our desktop. After spending three months dealing with these hackers who have obtained all my digital passcodes, even after changing them at the library, I find that they still gain access to our old accounts the next day. It's crucial to secure both mine and my husband's accounts effectively without risking deletion, as law enforcement is involved in this criminal matter. I possess a police case number, 18-[redacted], with Deputy Nash of the Guadalupe County Sheriff's Department. I plan to create new email accounts at the library but would appreciate a temporary generic account for communication purposes. I urgently need assistance as we are unable to afford professional help, and I have been diligently collecting pertinent information.

Hello, I am urgently seeking assistance. I uninstalled my Yahoo app to free up space for another app, assuming it would not affect my ability to access my email on my phone or computer. However, I am now facing an issue where Yahoo is prompting me to verify my identity using my old Australian phone number, which is no longer in use. My current number, since relocating to New Zealand, is [redacted]. Could Yahoo please update my phone number so I can receive the verification code to log in? Accessing my email is crucial for my studies and coordinating a trip to the US. I would appreciate a prompt resolution. My preference would be to revert to using just my email and password for access, especially since my current location has poor phone reception. Kindly refrain from emailing me as I am unable to receive messages that way. It would be great if I could discuss this matter over the phone. You can reach me at [redacted]84. I am eager to hear back from Yahoo as soon as possible. I have always been a loyal user and rely on my email for various important matters. Thank you, Bridie.

Around eight or nine months ago, my Yahoo account was compromised. The hacker changed the password and activated 2-step verification, even though I did not set it up. This account, linked to my old phone number, is crucial as it's been mine for almost a decade. Unfortunately, due to this breach, I lost access to various accounts, such as Dropbox, Gmail, Yahoo Fantasy, and all my saved progress and purchases in games like Facebook Golf Shots and Mortal Kombat X. Despite knowing the necessary information for my Yahoo account, the changed password blocks me. The recovery email associated, [redacted], was also compromised. I've tried multiple solutions to no avail. I've lost access to my Yahoo, Facebook, and Gmail accounts, as well as my old phone number. My new contact is [redacted]

Hello, I am experiencing difficulty accessing my Yahoo account due to the 2-step verification tied to a previous cell phone that I no longer have access to. I attempted to regain the same phone number through my service provider, but was unsuccessful as the number has been deactivated. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the password to my linked Gmail account for recovery purposes. This predicament is particularly challenging because my Yahoo account, which I have used for over a decade, is linked to several vital online accounts, including my government pension details. Recently released after a five-month incarceration, I find myself in need of assistance to reset my password. I am prepared to provide any necessary identification to verify my ownership of the account. Thank you.

My account has been hacked. Message from the hacker: Greetings, Regrettably, I have gained unauthorized access to your system on 07/19/[redacted], gaining control of your [redacted] account. Changing your password is ineffective as my software continuously intercepts it. Exploiting a vulnerability in the router software you connected to that day, I implanted malicious code into the router, facilitating the installation of a trojan on your device when you accessed the internet. I then proceeded to extract all data from your device, including contacts, browsing history, files, and more. A month ago, I contemplated locking your device for ransom but discovered your visits to adult websites. I created compromising images and now seek $[redacted] in Bitcoin for my silence. Your payment window is 50 hours, after which the timer began upon opening this message. Upon payment, your data will be deleted; otherwise, your device will lock, and the compromising images will be sent to your contacts. Attempting to remove my virus is futile as your data is already backed up remotely. Do not seek to contact me or employ security services, as even formatting your device will not erase your data. Update your antivirus regularly henceforth. This will be the end of our interaction, as I have other targets to pursue. Farewell.

I am currently locked out of both of my Yahoo email accounts, which are [redacted] and [redacted] Unfortunately, I set up both accounts to use the account key log in feature, and they are each other's recovery address. Since I changed my phone number two months ago and forgot to update it on Yahoo, I am unable to access either account. My phone was factory reset by my niece, causing me to lose all the data and applications. The account [redacted] holds all my coursework for the online university I attend. I can provide details about the folders and personal information within the email accounts. It is crucial for me to regain access to [redacted] to continue my university courses without any disruption. Your assistance in recovering my account would be greatly appreciated.

I have been dealing with a prolonged illness for a year, which has made it difficult for me to use my computer. I am not knowledgeable about technology and unfortunately cannot recall passwords. Although I remember my Yahoo email, I am struggling to order Christmas gifts as a home-bound person in a wheelchair. I have attempted to verify I am not a robot, but being visually impaired in one eye adds an extra challenge. Due to my circumstances, contacting me by phone would be more effective as I am unable to access my email without the password. I urgently need to purchase specialized shoes for my shorter left leg due to a previous surgery complication. Additionally, I undergo dialysis three days a week, which limits my mobility. I lack familial support and rely on medical transport for assistance. Kindly reach out on days other than Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, as those are my dialysis days. Thank you for understanding and your assistance.

I am experiencing an issue with my email account. Approximately 2-3 months ago, I was able to log in without any problems. However, after changing countries, I am no longer receiving verification codes from Yahoo to access my email. Despite knowing my password and having access to the same phone number, I am unable to receive the necessary codes. I am uncertain if this issue is due to changing countries, as I should still be receiving messages. I have attempted various solutions without success. My main goal is to remove the phone number and regain access solely through my password due to the important information stored in my account. Alternatively, I would like to resolve the issue of not receiving the verification messages on my phone.

I can't access my old Yahoo email address, [redacted] because I forgot the password and no longer have access to the recovery phone number [redacted]. I contacted a supposed Yahoo support number, but they claimed my email was inactive and asked for a $[redacted] fee to reactivate it. They also requested personal information like my age, relationship status, and wanted me to connect on Facebook, which seemed suspicious. I'm concerned about my account's security and would like assistance in recovering my email without falling victim to a scam attempt. Any help in resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Yahoo Support, I am struggling to access my email on my new iPhone. I've forgotten the password for my email account [redacted] I can still access it on my old iPhone 6, where I can read and send emails. However, with my new iPhone X, I can't remember the password. The recovery phone number [redacted]0 is no longer active, and I don't have a way to reset the password. I didn't set up a recovery email either. Can you please send reset instructions to either [redacted] or [redacted]? The email contains important house contracts and confidential information. Thank you for your help.

I have been unable to access my account for approximately two years because the security questions do not match what I remember. I no longer have the same phone numbers as when I opened the account, and I have since changed my phone number. This situation is important to me, but I cannot recover my account due to these changes. It would be greatly appreciated if Yahoo could improve the account recovery options to address common issues like changing phone numbers. Thank you for considering this important concern. Sincerely, Murphy

I used to receive daily emails from komando.com up until about a year ago. However, the emails suddenly stopped coming. I've tried signing up again on their website multiple times, but it keeps saying that I'm already subscribed. On the other hand, I used to get emails from rottentomatoes.com about once a week, but they have also stopped. I tried signing up again recently, but I still haven't received any emails from them. I've checked my list of blocked sites, and these two are not on there. I would appreciate it if someone could help me understand why I am not receiving these emails anymore.

I have been attempting to post questions on 'Yahoo! Answers' for several weeks now without success. While I can access the website and view existing questions, I am unable to post answers or comments on any questions. This issue persists whether I am using the virtual keyboard on my Android phone or attempting to post a new question on the homepage. I have also experienced technical difficulties with other apps on my phone, such as YouTube and iHeartRadio, which required assistance from my ISP to resolve. Despite reaching out to Tech Support, the problem with posting on Yahoo! Answers remains unresolved. I am uncertain why this problem persists and would appreciate any insights or assistance in resolving it.

I encountered an issue while trying to log in; a message popped up suggesting to try again due to a timeout error. This appears to be a common problem affecting many users, as retrying did not solve it. Interestingly, this occurred while I was not even actively using the account. Hence, contacting me via email with solutions is unhelpful since I cannot access the account. It seems the issue lies on your end, not mine. I would recommend considering alternative solutions like involving students in programming tasks rather than relying solely on possibly inefficient college graduates. The recurring technical glitches and inconveniences with Yahoo have been quite frustrating, prompting some users to seek more reliable email services. Despite these hiccups, I've successfully transitioned some communications to another provider without issues, highlighting the need for improvement on Yahoo's part to regain user trust and efficiency. It would be beneficial for Yahoo to address these issues promptly to prevent further disillusionment among its users.
