I hired a handyman, Gerald, to repair the legs on my dining table, but unfortunately, they broke shortly after his work. He also attempted to remove pet urine stains from my hardwood floor but left the job incomplete. After reaching out to him he promised to fix the issues but failed to show up as scheduled. Despite giving him another opportunity, he has ignored my messages. Upon researching his name online, I discovered some negative feedback about him, which I initially dismissed. As a single mom of two daughters preparing to move out of my home soon, I am now in a tight financial situation as I paid Gerald in full, including an extra $50, for incomplete work. I regret not looking into his background before hiring him and now need to find another professional to finish the job before my move.

There seems to be a misunderstanding. Jack Kearton is not associated with the address at [redacted] Castle Combe Way in Kingwood, Texas [redacted]. I am the sole owner of the property. Although we briefly dated in the past, Jack Kearton does not reside at this address, and I am unaware of his current whereabouts. Kindly remove his association with this address from your records. Thank you. Danell F. [redacted] Castle Combe Way Kingwood, Texas [redacted]

Dear forum members, I had a distressing experience with Alejandro Palalacio, who overcharged me $[redacted].00. It seems Thumbtack tends to side with the professionals rather than the customers. This particular pro has reportedly caused issues for several others. When the platform protects the pro more than the clients, it can be quite frustrating. I'm a senior on a fixed income without a pension, making this loss particularly challenging for me. We need Thumbtack to prioritize the customers and ensure we are refunded for such incidents. Alejandro Palalacio needs to provide me with the necessary receipts, as he has failed to do so thus far. I hope to recover the $[redacted].00 that I was unjustly charged. Best regards, R. U.

I would like to report a dispute with Alejandro Palacios Home Improvement LLC concerning $[redacted]. Thumbtack's escalation department needs to intervene to resolve this matter. The only solution I see is for Thumbtack to advocate for me, Rodney Udstad, to recover my $[redacted]. It is crucial to handle this with the same priority as any other Thumbtack dispute. If my money is not refunded, escalation to the department is necessary. Resolving this is as important as any other Thumbtack concern, and returning the $[redacted] will address our issue. If Thumbtack cannot resolve this, publicizing negative feedback on social media may be the next step. The key is to recover the money taken by Alejandro. Thank you. Regards, Rodney U. I recently received an email from Thumbtack on January 6, [redacted]. The email stated that Alejandro Palaico did not respond to their offer of $[redacted] and that the dispute has expired, but assured me that someone from the marketplace would reach out within 2 business days. I believe Thumbtack should hold their professionals more accountable. If they fail to respond to offers and show disrespect to business customers, Thumbtack should consider terminating their membership. The customer's satisfaction is essential, and I hope Thumbtack will take action to protect their integrity. I also suggest that Thumbtack should reimburse customers with the amount they receive from their professionals. I had a service on December 21, [redacted], and my contact information is [redacted] I eagerly await a response as I see Thumbtack as my best option to resolve this dispute.

On December 21, [redacted], I had a contractor come to my house in Acworth, GA. Alejandro Palacios did a great job installing a bathroom vanity and cabinet. He also helped with mirrors and another cabinet. We had some issues with pricing and missing items, but overall the work was excellent. I paid him $[redacted], but I suspect I was overcharged for supplies. I contacted Thumbtack for assistance in resolving the dispute. They are currently reviewing the receipts provided by the contractor. I am waiting for further updates on the situation. I believe a mediator might be necessary to settle the disagreement. Any help in reaching a fair resolution is appreciated. Thank you for your support. - Rodney U.

I have been trying to contact Thumbtack to address a problem with being charged for useful contacts in Cape Coral. There is a long toll bridge causing delays, as the students do not want to come to Estero and I prefer not to go there. Additionally, I updated my credit card information with Thumbtack as the previous one had expired, but it has not been processed yet. -A.W.

Hello, I recently received a message from a customer regarding a dispute involving work we completed satisfactorily. The customer was content with the job and made the payment. We clearly advised the customer that a licensed plumber was needed to install the toilet properly due to underlying issues. After the customer agreed, paid, and expressed satisfaction, a subsequent plumber caused damage to our newly installed floor. The customer now expects us to rectify the situation at their expense. Although we are willing to fix it, we believe the client is mistaken in this instance. We strive to uphold our company's standards and always aim to do what is fair, but in this case, the client is incorrect. Thank you.

I hired someone for a job, paid a $[redacted] down payment on March 7 through PayPal. The PayPal account was under the name Lisa Marie Herran, not the person I hired, Juliana Rossi. Juliana was nice and cooperative, shared three ideas I loved, but has not responded to my requested adjustments since March 21. I tried contacting her via Thumbtack messages, texts on March 27, and a phone call on March 30. Her online status shows she has seen my messages. I would like her to finish the job and I'm unsure if there is a communication issue. I even left a message for her to let me know if she does not want to continue working together. I value the relationship with Juliana and need clarity on the situation. Any assistance in reaching out to her would be appreciated.

I made a $[redacted] down payment for design work under my business name, Lisa Marie Herran, even though my name is Juliana Rossi. I requested some adjustments from Juliana on March 21 after she sent me three ideas that I liked. After not hearing back, I tried reaching out through Thumbtack on March 27 and today on March 30. I also sent a text on March 27 and called her today. I hope to resolve any communication issues as I value working with Juliana and do not want the project to end. I even left a message asking her to confirm if she still wants to work with me. Your assistance in this matter is appreciated.

Name: Sheryl Malin Email: [redacted] Phone: [redacted] I made a $[redacted] down payment to Juliana Rossi for a project. However, the PayPal account was under Lisa Marie Herran's name, which made me uncomfortable. After receiving three ideas from Juliana, I requested some adjustments on March 21. Despite my follow-ups via Thumbtack, text, and phone calls on March 27 and March 30, I have not received a response. I even left a message asking her to confirm if she still wants to work together. I value working with Juliana and would like to continue the project, but the lack of communication is concerning. I am seeking a resolution, preferably a refund of $[redacted], as I am unsure if Juliana is receiving my messages or if there are technical issues. I also noticed another name associated with her PayPal account, leading me to question the situation. I appreciate any assistance in reaching out to Juliana. Thank you, Sheryl Malin.

In December of last year, I hired a handyman via Thumbtack. Alejandro P. was tasked with installing my bathroom vanity with double sinks, which required plumbing installation. He mounted the plumbing to the wall instead of removing the drywall, and I recently noticed that he had to cut the back of the middle drawer to make it align with the other two. I realized this discrepancy on June 1, [redacted], a week ago, as he didn't discuss these modifications with me after completing the job on December 26, [redacted]. I contacted Thumbtack customer service to address these issues. However, three days later, I received a response from the Thumbtack technical team at [redacted], stating that the job was out of warranty and they couldn't assist further. I was under the impression that the warranty included customer job satisfaction guarantee or a refund.

I had a disappointing experience with a Thumbtack vendor, "Haul my Stuff," regarding junk removal pricing. I originally received a quote of $[redacted] but was charged $[redacted] after the items were loaded on the truck, which was not communicated beforehand. The vendor claimed the price change was in the Thumbtack App, but I couldn't find it. I felt misled and overcharged as the new price didn't match the service provided. Despite leaving a negative review, the vendor, Justin, called to confront me, even threatening to return the items to my property. It's concerning that Thumbtack vendors can act this way towards customers who leave honest reviews.

Our business, Mermaid Engineering Handyman Services, relies on Thumbtack.com for client leads. Despite resolving account deactivation issues with an agent yesterday and receiving assurances of a refund for missed leads, our account was deactivated again within hours. Thumbtack's lack of customer service availability until Monday is concerning, impacting both our revenue and customer satisfaction.

I recently had LC Roofing & General Contracting come to my house to fix a roof leak. However, even after their "basic repair," my roof was still leaking. When I contacted them about the issue, they informed me I would need to pay more for additional work. Upon investigating, I discovered they lack proper licensing as roofers or general contractors, having only a home improvement license in New Jersey, which I couldn't verify. I question the thoroughness of the background check you claim to have done. I am concerned that the owner, Mr. Leonardo Costello, may not be operating above board. Taking advantage of people during the difficult times of Covid is disheartening. Thank you for your attention. Best, S. Rose [redacted] [redacted]

Hello, I am Susanne Smith, a seamstress offering services on Thumbtack. I encountered an issue with a customer named Vielka Oscar who found me through Thumbtack. Due to personal problems, she is refusing to complete payment for a project, affecting our business relationship. I am concerned about her reaching out to other seamstresses on the site and potentially causing similar problems. You can reach me at [redacted] for further details. I have a history of excellent reviews on Thumbtack and want to address this matter to protect my reputation. I possess screenshots of our conversations if needed. Please advise me on how to handle this situation. Thank you, Susanne Smith

My calendar is still being blocked off, but I am receiving leads and being charged for them. For example, there was a lead from Juliana K. Also, I was charged for a lead from Rachel Mal who has stairs and wants tile on treads even though our ad states we only do wood treads. Please refund both leads. I've faced similar issues with several leads I've paid for in the past. If this keeps happening, I will have to close my account. Thank you in advance for addressing this matter. Patriot Stairs. I need to speak with a live person regarding my account not generating leads. The agreed-upon credit isn't reflecting in my charges as promised by the representative I spoke with two weeks ago. I also require assistance with my photography profile; I have services for both cleaning and photography but don't know how to set up separate profiles for each service. It is essential for me to resolve these issues before Christmas. My account is currently locked, so kindly contact me at [redacted] to discuss these matters. Thank you. -C.D.

I recently used a service provider through Thumbtack. I want to update my review. The person completed only 50% of the job, then requested payment and a positive review upfront. I trusted him and complied, expecting him to return the next day. However, after receiving the money and a good review, he never showed up as promised, ignored my messages, and left the job unfinished. I would like to change my review for Jake A to 1 star. My revised review: "Do not pay or review this person until the job is [redacted]% complete. Paying early may result in the worker leaving the job unfinished." Initially, everything seemed fine, and he appeared friendly, but his focus was on receiving payment and positive reviews rather than completing the task. While I believe he has potential, it is crucial to hold off on payment and reviews until the job is satisfactorily finished to avoid any issues.
