Shane was a no-show for my move on March 5th after needing to reschedule due to transportation issues on my end. When I contacted him initially, he was positive about helping. On March 6th, Shane mentioned he was in Midland but would return the same day. Following up on March 7th, he asked me to call back later. Despite my message about him letting me know if he couldn't help, he hasn't returned my call. I have reached out to two other movers without any response. I hope to have my requests addressed and find someone to assist with my move.

I am requesting to unsubscribe for various reasons. Firstly, I struggled to find a way to contact you, but eventually managed through Siri at [redacted] Secondly, based on your recommendation, I hired a young man to install trim on my interior windows. He provided an estimate, but after multiple delays, he completed the job poorly in one day with his unskilled brother. The final cost, which he demanded in cash and was double the estimate, was collected by his wife. I had to redo all the windows myself despite being 70 years old. This entire experience has led me to inform my community as the president of the city's senior leadership and largest church. Your organization should be more thorough in vetting the individuals you refer to customers.

I am disappointed at the recent turn of events. Last night, I finally created a profile on Thumbtack at the recommendation of family and friends who work there. I spent over 3 hours setting up my profile and garnered 7 positive reviews. To my dismay, I woke up to find my profile deleted due to violating Thumbtack's policies.
Upon reviewing their guidelines, I observed one potential issue – offering a service listed on Thumbtack. While creating my profile, I informed an employee that my services (permanent cosmetics and spray tanning) did not align with existing categories. I was advised to select "Facials" and clarify my services in the summary.
Moreover, I provided services to a Thumbtack employee who had initially found a microblading artist on the platform but sought my help afterward. It seems unfair that my account was deleted when others offering similar services remain active. I feel let down by the inconsistency in enforcement and the professional guidance received.
I request the restoration of my profile to continue working with Thumbtack. Thank you for your attention.

Warning - Beware of Edikas Contractor LLC in Renton!
A contractor from this company, who is not licensed and has been suspended, performed unsatisfactory work for me. He asked for a good review immediately after finishing the job, but shortly after, my covered patio roof started leaking. When he tried to fix it with inappropriate materials, I intervened as it was making the situation worse. Upon inspection, the entire structure was deemed unsafe and needs to be removed. The contractor used fence hangers instead of proper joist hangers, did not use treated 6x6 wood, and did not fasten the structure to code. Despite the damages, he refuses to take responsibility. I tried to leave a review on the platform he suggested, but because I didn't communicate with him there, I'm unable to remove it. This experience has cost me thousands, and this contractor is a fraudulent individual.

One of your representatives, Logun, suggested I join the Top Pro program with a $[redacted] deposit. However, I have been charged for leads that didn't lead to anything, locking my account. I contacted customer service as advised. I was charged for 3 leads that showed no interest in my services after I responded promptly and professionally. Thumbtack should clarify the lead process to customers to avoid bidding wars and ensure fairness. I request a refund for the 3 unsuccessful leads, as it is only fair. My name is Amanda S. I was hired on August 28, [redacted], by Melissa Chapman. On December 20, [redacted], she injured my hand in three places. The State of Maryland has charged her with second-degree assault. She is currently out on bond. Today I noticed that she still maintains a Thumbtack profile under the name Mel chap. I reported this incident to Thumbtack Support when it occurred. I am scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, May 30, due to the circumstances. I will inform Maryland's District Attorney's Office that you have not properly removed her from Thumbtack and that she has continued to hire contractors through the platform. I have been a Thumbtack pro for approximately three years. Occasionally, I receive promising leads, but these are rare. Initially, upon signing up, I paid a small fee for a number of credits. $20 allowed me to connect with several customers, potentially leading to new students. However, I now find myself declining potential clients due to concerns about their seriousness or proximity, considering the high cost of each lead at around $6. This results in fewer students and limited business for both myself and Thumbtack.
In my latest experiences, two students contacted me directly, initially appearing promising but ultimately deciding not to pursue lessons. I now feel hesitant and prefer to rely on other communication channels. I believe I should be refunded for these interactions and suggest a return to the previous fee structure to encourage more interactions.

We needed a plumber to install a sump pump in our basement, and your company sent Jeremy Sowersby. Unfortunately, upon arrival, Jeremy did not have the necessary parts to complete the job, leading to additional expenses and damages. The sump pump was incorrectly connected to the sewage lift pump, causing it to overheat and overflow, damaging our basement carpet. After paying Jeremy $[redacted], we had to hire a local plumber from All Pro Plumbing & Heating in Hutchinson, KS, who corrected the installation for $[redacted].86. While not seeking reimbursement for the carpet damage, we would like a refund of the $[redacted] paid to Jeremy and the $35 spent on parts he should have provided. I am prepared to take legal action as I filed a complaint last year and received no response. I hired a service provider through your company who took my money, then subcontracted the job to someone off the street. This individual was then instructed not to trust the worker with the payment. It was inappropriate to send an unauthorized person to an upscale neighborhood and my home. The worker was unable to complete the task, and I am seeking a refund of $85. After contacting the provider this week, I was advised to go to court. Before proceeding legally against your company, I intend to reach out to M. Zappacosta, your CEO. It appears my initial complaint may have been dismissed, and I am requesting prompt resolution before pursuing legal action against your company since I hired through your platform.

I hired Agro Fencing to install a cyclone fence in my backyard. On the scheduled start day, I needed to delay a couple of days due to driveway construction. Agro Fencing requested a $[redacted] down payment during the first meeting, but I preferred to pay once the work commenced. On another day, they removed weeds and an old fence on one side, and then asked for the first payment of around $[redacted] even though I felt it made more sense to pay in full upon completion. Despite this, Agro Fencing's work progress was sporadic - leaving for various reasons, including lunch breaks, funerals, and equipment issues. They expressed frustration over labor shortages and the heat, leading to a misunderstanding when I suggested hiring additional help. Currently, they are demanding another $[redacted] before finishing the job. I have already prepared the full payment, but it has stretched from a promised two-day job into weeks of delays. Agro Fencing's representative, Nick, recently removed equipment angrily, claiming interest on unpaid amounts. I am hesitant to allow them to return due to the increased tension.

I had a concerning experience with Miguel's Lawn and Tree Service recently that I feel needs to be shared. Close to nine years ago, I initially hired Miguel through another service in San Antonio, Tx and had no complaints until recently. I asked him to call before coming by on two separate occasions as my dogs need to be secured, but he arrived unannounced with our gates open. This led to a scary situation where my dogs almost ran out onto the street. Despite my urgent pleas to close the gate and the close call with the lawn mower running, Miguel later informed me he would not proceed with the service as I had apparently scared his children who were assisting him that day. His rude behavior, including hanging up on me twice when trying to discuss the situation, was highly unprofessional. For the safety of my pets and the lack of professionalism in customer service, I have decided to switch to a new landscaping service. Thank you for understanding.

I have been a business partner with Thumbtack for almost a year and recently found my account deactivated without any prior notice. When I called to inquire about the issue, I was informed that my account could not be reactivated until an unresolved customer matter was addressed, but no specific details were provided. I suspect the customer in question to be Ivy, whom I never met in person and had ongoing issues with during a project. Despite her partner being on-site and approving payments for completed work daily, Ivy insisted on additional services without adjusting the agreed-upon price. Threats of a negative review followed when I explained additional work would require extra payment. Her claims of incomplete work were inaccurate, including a leaking drain that was unrelated to my installations. I feel disappointed by the lack of communication and support from Thumbtack, a company I viewed as a business partner. I hired a pet sitter through your website, Chris Cares. I interviewed four sitters and chose Chris, believing he would be best suited for my dominant dog. He mentioned house cleaning services before my return. Upon returning late at 1:30 am, I discovered urine in various places and evidence that he had not spent the expected amount of time at my home. Despite discussing my dogs' incontinence and the use of doggie diapers, the condition of the house was not satisfactory. When I addressed these issues with Chris, his response was disrespectful and unprofessional. I found this behavior unacceptable, especially as I have a son involved in law enforcement. I have recently requested credits for unresponsive customers. I have removed my payment card from the site. I have even contacted a scheduled customer and informed them to find other service providers on Thumbtack. The platform has already issued credits for some of these unresponsive customers. I am committed to making this work but will not pay for customers who do not respond. I expect all my requested credits to be approved; otherwise, I will consider canceling my account. I have received an email acknowledging that this issue is being addressed, so I would like to see the importance placed on resolving this matter. This situation has led to a one-star review due to my decision to temporarily halt services until this issue is resolved.

I reached out to your company in mid-October [redacted] to address a troubling experience. The issue involves an electrician sent to perform a job who did not meet the expected professional standards. I hired him to install a transfer switch to connect to my new portable generator. He arrived promptly but seemed unsure of his work. The job took four and a half hours instead of the promised hour and a half. He left without completing the task, assuring he would return in a couple of days to test the installation. After failed attempts to reach him, he later demanded more money for a service I had already paid for. This behavior feels like extortion. I hired Miracle Maids of Akron with Stacy and her husband on 10/14 to clean our empty condo after we moved out. The cleaning gals caused unexpected damage to the two bathroom countertops, leaving etched markings on both clean countertops. Despite contacting Stacy immediately after the incident, she has not taken responsibility or provided reimbursement for the damaged countertops. Stacy's lack of professionalism and blaming me for the damage has been frustrating. The new owners who visited after the cleaning also noted various issues like streaked mirrors and poorly cleaned kitchen cabinets. Despite promises of contacting her insurance company, there has been no resolution or response from Stacy regarding the damages or reimbursement for the countertops.
