I had an unfortunate encounter with a tradesperson after canceling a service request in advance. Despite not booking the service, the individual became hostile during our communication. Eventually, he posted my address on Thumbtack, a platform where our interaction occurred. Feeling threatened, I commented on his behavior, leading to more unwarranted aggression from his side. He then threatened to label me as spam and tarnish my customer reputation with false allegations. I am worried about the impact this could have on my profile and reputation. I seek advice on how to handle this situation as it has escalated unnecessarily.

I made an error and rated Jeff Grunt incorrectly. I would like to update it to 5 stars. Although he didn't end up working for me, I would consider his services in the future. As for Marc Schroeder, I couldn't find a platform to rate him. He charged me excessively, didn't complete the work on my attic resulting in ongoing issues with trespassers, and failed to repair a hole in my ceiling. Despite my inquiries about the cost, I was never given a clear answer. He didn't fulfill the requested task, displayed poor workmanship, and left me with unresolved problems. I do not recommend his services due to his dishonesty and lack of follow-up. He also couldn't set up my security cameras properly. Patricia Bagshaw.

I hired a company to install a lawn sprinkler system, based on three recommendations you provided. Only "Irish Guy Construction" responded, measuring my lawn thoroughly before quoting a price. Another company bid but was incomplete. Despite paying over $[redacted], the system doesn't work. Irish Guy Construction has not returned my calls to fix it. Now, I need to find another company to sort out the issues, costing me more money. I have used Thumbtack before with success, but this experience has been disappointing.

I recently hired Juan, who was recommended by you, to clean my tile roof. After he applied the chemicals, he mentioned that the rain would wash it off for the best results. However, I later found out that the washing off of the chemicals was an additional service that I wasn't informed about beforehand. Most companies I checked with include washing off in their service. Juan mentioned that he resprayed the chemicals, but I couldn't confirm this as I was not home. The roof edges still have mildew, and he is now not responding to my emails. I am considering writing a negative review and pursuing further action. I look forward to hearing back from you.

My customers actively search for my services, and each message is billed as a quote. I am seeking a full refund of $[redacted] due to being uninformed and disappointed by the lack of communication regarding the charges. All the settings on the app are preselected to charge the maximum amount, which is not acceptable. The app is overly complex and time-consuming. Despite being informed that there would be no charge for customers seeking us, I am being charged. This is not acceptable. I am requesting to speak with a manager or the owner as this situation may be unlawful. Please call me immediately at [redacted]. I believe this practice could lead to a class-action lawsuit. I want to share a concerning experience regarding a painter I hired named Otto Ben Keller from Artistic Expressions. After completing the project, some jewelry went missing, including a ring and chain that were not frequently worn. It took us a while to notice the missing items, and it wasn't until rearranging things in the bedroom that we realized they were gone. I didn't initially suspect the contractor until I saw his name in the paper linked to theft. Some odd behaviors included frequent no-shows, strange excuses like migraines and equipment issues with price tags from pawn shops, and leaving equipment uncollected for weeks. Upon closer inspection, the work was subpar, with painted-over dust and misaligned cabinets. While I'm reluctant to leave a negative review due to safety concerns, I feel it's important to caution others about allowing this individual unsupervised access to their homes. My advice is to be cautious of glowing reviews and trust your instincts.

Subject: Disappointing Experience with Diane’s Cleaning Service Dear members, I recently hired Diane’s Cleaning Service to clean my 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment. Despite communicating beforehand about the services including carpet cleaning, baseboards, refrigerator, oven, windows, and cabinets, I was disappointed. Diana had mentioned she would bring her supplies, but she ended up using my towels and did not clean everything as agreed. Additionally, her son, who assisted, missed cleaning areas, leaving smudges and dirt behind. I tried to address this by contacting her son, but received no response. I am unsure whether to cancel payment or ask for a re-clean or refund. This experience, especially as a person with disabilities, has left me disheartened. I contacted Bella regarding wrinkles on the grass. I was assured they would reach out to schedule a fix, but no one did. My calls went unanswered. The issue with the wrinkles occurred because the grass should have been allowed to heat up for a few hours before installation. This step was missed, and the grass was installed too quickly after unloading. After posting a review, Bella contacted me and agreed to come on Monday to stretch the grass and remove the wrinkles. If they follow through, we will be happy as we were pleased with the price and like the look of the grass. We are willing to give them a positive review once the job is completed.

I was recently booked on Thumbtack for a face painting gig by a customer named Milena Vasileska for today, September 23, [redacted], from 2pm to 4pm. We received a notification confirming the booking through the Thumbtack calendar on Friday. Despite this, Milena did not provide a contact number, and I had been unable to reach her until Saturday. She then informed me that she might have booked another face painter, ultimately canceling on us even after confirming through Thumbtack. This led us to lose out on other opportunities and incur charges for the leads. We are hopeful that Thumbtack will take action, blacklist the client, and refund us accordingly. I recently encountered an issue with a client failing to pay me for services after canceling an event unexpectedly. Despite only requesting payment for the posting fees, the situation escalated to threats when I inquired about it. I recently hired an electrician, known as "The Flash," for an electrical project. However, after the completion of the work, two issues came to light: 1. When the electrician was working on installing new lighting from the attic, the existing electric line leading to an outdoor plug point stopped functioning, possibly due to a switch problem. This plug had been working until that point. 2. In the garage, the electrician installed two side-by-side switches to control the garage light and an outside light. Unfortunately, these switches operate in opposite directions, causing confusion as one's 'on' position is the other's 'off' position. Despite reaching out multiple times, the electrician has not addressed the issues as promised. I am looking for assistance from Thumbtack to mediate and ensure the electrician returns to fix these concerns promptly. Thank you.

We received a quote and had work done by a contractor listed on your platform. We have encountered multiple issues with Michael from Simply Floors in Michigan. Our relationship initially started well, but after paying Michael in full since we were away during the work, we returned to find uneven floors in May. Despite attempts to resolve it with Michael, the situation dragged on. Numerous delays were given, including excuses of an injured worker and missed messages. After threats of legal action, he finally scheduled to fix the floors in October. However, on the day of the appointment, he arrived late and claimed furniture hadn't been moved, contrary to what was agreed upon. After more discrepancies and frustrations, we decided to request a refund of $[redacted]. Michael agreed but has not followed through despite promises. His unprofessionalism and lack of accountability have left us feeling ill. We have never experienced such issues with contractors in the past. We hope for assistance in resolving this matter as we contemplate legal or public action.

I joined Thumbtack yesterday and selected the option for remote work. However, I received inquiries from out-of-state customers, making it impossible for me to fulfill the requests. Despite explaining this, I was still charged. I reached out to customer service today to resolve the issue and request a refund, but they declined to credit my account. This experience has left me disappointed, especially as a new user. Reading other reviews where customers faced similar problems concerns me about Thumbtack's customer service approach. I did not anticipate being contacted by individuals outside my area and being charged for it seems unfair.

I am disappointed with Thumbtack as we have been using it for years without any issues. Recently, we faced a situation where a customer who had given us a deposit for half of the work decided to cancel the job halfway through due to issues with their sewer. This resulted in a complaint on our profile. I was on vacation and unaware of this complaint until after my account was deactivated. It seems unfair to be penalized for one complaint, especially considering our otherwise excellent reputation. Our company name is jet4less, and we request a review of this situation as we believe it unjust to have our account deactivated based on a single incident.

Thumbtack is currently requesting Pro Members to agree to a new Terms of Use agreement that includes surrendering rights to any images they upload. This means that anything posted, such as images, will be licensed to Thumbtack without compensation for various purposes, including resale. As a professional photographer, I am not comfortable signing away these licensing rights without fair payment. It is essential for a platform to respect the intellectual property of its users. I kindly request a revised contract that allows Pro Members to retain full rights to the images they share.

I have been going back and forth with Thumbtack regarding a disagreement initiated by a customer. I have been unable to respond promptly to the complaint due to undergoing liver cancer treatment in Philadelphia. I reached out to the customer, asking them to confirm that the issue has been settled. Thumbtack has provided me with only three resolution options, all of which require me to comply with the customer's demands. What if the customer is mistaken? I've explained this situation extensively, and the ongoing delay is causing financial losses as I cannot take on new requests until this matter is resolved. I feel trapped into meeting the customer's demands, even if they are incorrect. Having a phone support option with a live representative could facilitate resolving this issue quickly.

Hi Jaira and Rosa, I wanted to remind you of our agreement made through Thumbtack for today, 2/15/19. The plan was for cleaning and packing in the dining room. This included polishing silver, cleaning items in the china cabinet, curio cabinet, and two chests, followed by wrapping them in bubble wrap for moving. You mentioned bringing all necessary supplies like silver polish and boxes. It's now 1:30PM, and you're 1-1/2 hours late without any communication. I expected at least a phone call or text. Respect for your customers goes a long way. Your actions will reflect in my review. Enjoy the rest of your day.

I was contracted for a [redacted] sq ft flooring project, but upon arrival, it was only a [redacted] sq ft job. The client mentioned talking to 3 pros, with me being the second. She was seeking the lowest price. I proposed matching the first quote with better quality, yet the setup favored the third pro who offered just $5 less. It seemed unfair to the first pro and me. We both agreed on a $[redacted] total for the floor. I request a reduced payment or a waiver. Despite this, I appreciate Thumbtack's service and am willing to pay a smaller fee to continue using their platform. Once this matter is resolved, I look forward to resuming services. Thank you.
