I tried to update my Direct Express address on Tuesday, February 28th as my card was expiring soon. Shockingly, my current card, valid until 3/31/23, was deactivated instead. This left me unable to pay rent, with no response after 12 hours of calling customer service. Despite trying to reach out, including speaking with Angela Ayers, each call ended abruptly due to high call volume. Direct Express insisted on calling back during less busy hours. The representative was barely audible, put me on hold for 35 minutes, and I lost access to $[redacted]. This situation has led to late fees and may impact my rental record.

My mother-in-law has a debit card, and my wife and I help her withdraw her SSI deposit once a month. Today, we discovered that her account balance was only $7 when we went to the bank. After setting up an online account, we found 2 suspicious ATM withdrawals in February and 2 unauthorized EFT transfers in March. Despite contacting customer service, we have been on hold for over an hour with no resolution in sight.

I attempted to purchase an Xbox [redacted] game controller from Shop Goodwill.com, but my card was declined three times despite working fine at an ATM earlier. I have been trying to reach your customer service for two days now, starting as early as 7:30 am today, and I keep getting the same message before the call ends abruptly. I encountered an issue at Dollar Tree while trying to make a payment. After swiping my card initially, I was prompted to use the chip. Upon inserting the card, the machine detected the chip, but after attempting to swipe again, I'm unsure of what occurred next. It seems like my card might be locked, preventing successful transactions. I urgently need assistance as my rent is due in two days, and I cannot access my funds. I also tried to make a payment over the phone, but was informed that my card was declined. I suspect my card may have been locked. Please address this matter promptly as I have been unsuccessful in reaching your customer service for the past two days.

After an authorized hold of $[redacted].77 was placed on my Walmart online order, only $98.62 was deducted, leaving $28.05 which was not refunded as it should have been. Interestingly, this remaining $28.05 has now been shown as a hold for a purchase I made at Walmart. When I reached out to customer service for a receipt of that purchase, I was told by Direct Express that I need to provide evidence to prove that Walmart has authorized a return for a refund. I am concerned about how Direct Express will address this issue since deductions are being made from my account without my knowledge, and I must now prove that I am not responsible for the unauthorized charges impacting my funds.

I have been trying to reach a live representative for three days without success. The automated system is consistently too busy and not sending text or email notifications for deposits or transactions. After being redirected multiple times, I feel overwhelmed by the lack of assistance given to SSI/SSDI recipients like myself by Direct Express. I contacted my social security office, who relayed the ongoing complaints and sent an urgent email on my behalf, yet I am still waiting for a response. The delay leaves me concerned about the security of my funds as unauthorized transactions could go unnoticed without proper notifications. Direct Express must take accountability for any financial discrepancies that may occur due to their lack of responsiveness.

While in the hospital, my identity was stolen which led to my card getting blacklisted. I've had to contact them every three days to get my card whitelisted. Last night, I called at 8:30 PM but was on hold for 4 hours. Initially, my account only contained $4 with a pending deposit of over $[redacted]. They didn't approve the whitelist due to the low account balance. Despite having sufficient funds later on, they still wouldn't whitelist the card. It's frustrating that their phone lines were unresponsive and their system was down. This issue seems to affect only cards associated with social security benefits. I am facing additional charges of $[redacted] due to this problem and it's unfair to be penalized for being an identity theft victim. I engage in bitcoin transactions from one wallet to another, which they seem to disapprove of. I urgently need help to get my account whitelisted today to sort out my bills.

I have enough funds on my Direct Express card. I have authorized all transactions but can't reach customer service. I am unable to make online purchases, only using the ATM and in-store. Despite authorizing each transaction, I urgently need to contact customer service but the high call volume has made it impossible since Thursday morning. I am handicapped and rely on online grocery shopping, which I can't do even though I have the funds.

Despite facing this issue previously, I have made numerous attempts to contact Direct Express over the course of 40 hours, only to encounter high call volumes and automated recordings. As a retired individual facing health challenges, it is incredibly frustrating to have limited access to my funds due to what I perceive as outdated and inefficient customer service. My mother's card was canceled on Friday due to fraudulent charges. We were instructed to call back today (Monday) to dispute the charges. When we call the Direct Express number, we are not provided with any options to speak to anyone. The automated system only requests my mother's Social Security number, informs us about the delivery of the new card, and then disconnects the call. We need to dispute charges of $[redacted].78, $49.68, and ensure the cancellation of a $[redacted].01 charge from last Friday.

I am attempting to use my Direct Express card on PayPal to send money, but it keeps getting declined, requesting me to contact the card issuer. This issue is not related to PayPal. I already have a PayPal account. When I called the number on the back of my card, I received a message saying they are unable to take my call due to high volume and to try again later. After multiple attempts over 3 days, I finally spoke to a representative who mentioned transferring me to a supervisor. This situation is very frustrating. I spoke with a young lady yesterday who attempted to connect me with someone to send me paperwork for two transactions that I did not authorize. Yesterday, I discovered two unauthorized charges on my account. I reached out to Customer Service at [redacted] to report the fraudulent activity. I requested my card ending in #[redacted] to be closed and for a new card to be issued. Cindy Erika, the representative I spoke with, processed the request. However, when she transferred me to dispute the charges, I was on hold for 1 hour and 40 minutes before the call disconnected. Since then, I have been unable to reach another representative. Despite multiple attempts, the only information I receive is that a new card was ordered on 3/6 and will arrive in 5 to 10 business days. The fraudulent charges were $39.97 on 2/2/23 and $[redacted].96 on 3/2/23. The $[redacted].97 charge shows JYDERSOCCOR.COM on my statement, but that website cannot be found. The $39.97 charge is linked to GetDalenaFlo, a Hair Product site selling bottles at the exact amounts taken from my account. As a disabled veteran dependent on these funds, I find the lack of support from US Direct Express troubling. The situation is unacceptable, and I seek assistance in resolving this matter.
