What are the hours and when should I call?
uShip operates the call center for this 800-698-7447 phone number Mon-Thur 7am-7pm, Fri 7am-5pm, Sat 10am-4pm CT.The short answer is that you should call on a Monday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 170 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
When you use our free AI-powered phone to call and talk, wait on hold, or navigate for you, it will automatically wait until the uShip call center opens before trying to call. It will ask your permission before it places the call, so you can also further delay that scheduled call until you are ready. But that means you can "set it and forget it" ahead of time.
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this uShip phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like uShip staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

Calling UShip for assistance isn't a helpful endeavor, although the company does provide a bit of assistance to people with difficulty getting an internet connection. When you call, UShip initially plugs its website to try to get you to go there to get a quote. It then asks you for your language choice of English or Spanish and takes you to the main menu.
If you do make a selection from the main menu, however, it doesn't matter what option you choose. You won't be able to get any support from the system other than telling you that they are unable to provide support over the phone at this time. It doesn't matter whether you say that you're new to UShip, need to order pallets or need to check on the status of your account; you get the same message that you need to go onto the website to get assistance.
However, if you are on a cell phone, you can request that the website get sent directly to your mobile device as a text message. While this does send you the website, it comes with a catch: you're only able to use the website to get help if you already have an account with UShip. If you don't yet have an account to enter, you aren't able to use the site to get assistance.
Overall, I thought that providing a link through text was a good thing, but the automated system wasn't set up very well. Having a setup where it appears that the customer can get help, only to say that they can't get any assistance, is annoying and frustrating. It's also not a great thing that people can only use the website if they already have an account set up. I'd be hesitant before using this number in the future.
