How Do I Setup Two Factor Authorization on My eToro Account?

When it comes to securing your online accounts, you can never be too cautious. Cyber criminals work overtime to steal information and assets, and you want your eToro account to be protected. One way to get an added layer of protection is two-factor authorization/authentication (2FA). How do you set up two-factor authorization on your eToro account? You can learn more about eToro account security by contacting customer support here, and below are steps to setting up 2FA.

Setting Up 2FA on eToro

  1. Make sure your phone number attached to your account has been verified.
  2. Log into your account.
  3. Go to "Account settings."
  4. Navigate to "Security" and toggle 2FA on by sliding the "switch."
  5. You will receive an SMS code on your phone.
  6. Enter the SMS code in the box and click "Apply."
  7. If you want to have eToro remember your device or browsers, click "remember this device." You will not need to add the 2FA code when you log in from that particular device or browser over the next 30 days. A new code is generated every 30 days for increased account protection, or you will get a new code if you log in from a different/new device or browser.
  8. Leave 2FA active at all times to provide added protection to your account.

Other Security Steps You Can Take

Two-factor authorization is just one way to make your eToro account more secure. Other ways to protect your account include the following:

  1. Biometrics Authentication: eToro allows you to activate "Face/Touch ID" to protect your account. You can set up facial or fingerprint recognition to log into your account from your mobile device.
  2. Verification: your account must include a verified phone number and email address for stronger protection. Verifying your contact information protects from your account being compromised.
  3. Strong Password: your password is your first line of defense on your account. Make sure you exceed the minimum requirements for passwords, and change your password often. Don't share passwords, and don't use the same password for all your accounts.
  4. Report Suspicious Activity Immediately: if you do notice suspicious activity on your account, reporting it immediately can help protect your information and assets.

Setting up 2FA on eToro is a simple process that can protect your information and money from hackers. For more information or assistance with 2FA, contact eToro customer support here.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for eToro Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
