If you have been waiting for your package from Royal Mail, you may be disappointed to realize that it is missing. Any time you purchase items from Royal Mail, they are responsible for making sure that it arrives to you in good condition.

If you don't receive your package, you can have the right to claim compensation. There is a chance that your package may be delayed somewhere. You can track your package using your tracking number. You can track your post whether you sent it or were supposed to receive it.

You should contact Royal Mail if you suspect that your package may be stolen.

Determining When Your Post Was Due

You can work out when your post should be due based on how it was posted. If someone sent it to you, ask them to double-check and make sure that the address was right. You won't receive it if there were errors in the address. Ask when they sent it and the postage they used.

For first-class postages, your post is due on the next working day. Second class posts are due in three working days after posting and special delivery posts are due when the sender requested. Do not include bank holidays when calculating when your post should arrive.

If you have not received your post even though it is due, it may be due to any of the following reasons;

1. Your post was stolen

2. Your post was delivered to a different address

3. Your post contained a restricted item and was therefore returned

4. There was a major problem at the delivery office

5. The address was unclear. In such instances, Royal Mail will return it to the sender.

If you missed your package das a result of your failure to follow the rules, you may not qualify for compensation. You can file for compensation if your post is three days late. You can get compensation for Special Delivery if it is 24 hours late.

You can consider your post lost if it does not arrive in ten working days or five days for Special Delivery. You can claim compensation. When contacting Royal Mail for compensation, you must have the following details ready;

1. The date and location of your posting

2. Your full details and those of the sender

3. Proof of postage

4. Proof of value

5. How your posting was sent

Royal Mail has the right to request additional documentation that may make it easier for them to help you. This includes the following;

1. An explanation of circumstances that may have resulted in the loss or delay of your package

2. A statement with all of the basic evidence and a declaration that you realize making false statements may lead to prosecution.

Once you make your claim, you should receive compensation within 30 days. Contact the support team if you don't receive your compensation. The nature and extent of compensation is at the discretion of Royal Mail.

If you need help with your missing package on Royal Mail, you may seek support from the customer care representatives. The best way to contact them is on the phone.
