Q Link Wireless is an American based telecommunications firm which provides wireless services to federal Lifeline Program eligible American citizens. Q Link Wireless service involves getting a free cell phone with assigned airtime every month.

To be eligible for a Q Link Wireless service you need to be currently enrolled in a government benefit program or if you meet low income standards in your particular state.

If you want to subscribe for Q Link Wireless services, you can transfer your existing SIM card and phone number to the Q-Link Wireless network. However, there is certain information that you should already possess before initiating the transfer including: your current phone number, the account number and password from your current cell service provider, the billing name and address on your current cell service provider's account.

You also need to be eligible for the transfer to be successful. First, you need to keep your current cell provider's SIM card active. You should not contact your current network and ask them to deactivate your account either before or during the transfer period or else you will not be eligible for the transfer.

You also need to settle any bills you may have with your current network before the transfer. Moreover, you need to contact your current cell service provider and ensure that your phone is unlocked.

Ensure that you do not have a current port initiated with your current provider. If you do have an open port, you should call them and cancel it.

SIM Card Transfer

If you are eligible for the transfer, you should contact Q Link and ask them to send you a SIM card. They will send it to you free of charge.

The SIM kit you get should include your Q Link SIM card, 3 SIM card adapters, and a SIM card-eject tool. The transfer process is as follows:

  1. Turn off your phone and remove the SIM card currently in it. You can use the SIM card eject tool included in you Q Link kit
  2. Take out your Q Link SIM card and closely examine it to ensure there are 3 cut out sizes of the SIM card
  3. Compare your old SIM card to the Q Link SIM card to evaluate which of 3 cut-out SIM cards will be the appropriate size for your phone. Once you are sure, punch out the appropriate size SIM card
  4. Place the SIM card in your phone
  5. Turn on your Q Link Wireless Phone and your SIM card will be installed. You will need to contact Q Link customer service to activate your SIM card if it is not activated. You can also check the Q Link website for instructions as to why to do it yourself.

If you already have a SIM card, you can also transfer it to Q Link. You will have to use the last 4 digits of the SIM card number to see if the card is compatible with the network. The card number is usually imprinted on the back of the card. You will type the 4 digits in the Q Link Wireless website to found out its compatibility status.

If your SIM card is not compatible, you will have to reach out to Q Link customer service and provide an address where a SIM card can be sent. The SIM card will arrive in the mail several days after verification of the address.

If it is compatible, all you need to do is activate your phone and you can start enjoying Q Link Wireless services for the rest of your life.
