  • Shoes
  • Belts
  • Jackets or outerwear
  • 3-1-1 liquids
  • Laptops

All you have to do is add your Known Traveler Number (KTN) to your ticket on JetBlue Airlines and you're all set. This article will show you how.

How to become a TSA Precheck Passenger

When you apply for TSA Precheck status, you will be screened for risks and then fingerprinted, if approved, you will be enrolled for 5 years. You can become a TSA Precheck passenger in 4 simple steps and it will save you a lot of time during traveling.

Step 1. Complete the online application

Step 2. Pay the application fee of $85 (this fee is non-refundable)

Step 3. Set up an appointment for a 10-minute in-person screening where you will undergo a background check and fingerprinting.

Step 4. Once approved you will be issued a KTN that you can begin adding to your reservations and travel profile.

Note: In order to apply you must be a permanent US resident or a US citizen. In addition, there is no guarantee that a passenger will get expedited screening or won't be told to remove certain items, such as a laptop or 3-1-1 liquids and gels from their carry-on baggage.

Some Customs and Border Protection programs may also allow you to enjoy TSA Precheck benefits, such as Global Entry, NEXUS, or SENTRI expedited custom programs as well as active Military personnel who can use their military ID as their KTN.

How to add your KTN to your ticket on JetBlue Airlines?

Once you are approved, you can begin using your TSA Precheck credentials by adding your KTN to your reservations, whenever you book a flight with JetBlue Airlines. You can also register your credentials during check-in; however for kiosk and mobile boarding passes, you must apply your KTN before check-in to use the service. Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact a customer support agent by clicking here or ask an agent at a Jetblue Airline desk at the airport before you check-in.

Your boarding pass will contain the TSA Precheck logo, which will enable expedited security checks.

Another way to ensure you receive expedited security is by storing your KTN in your TrueBlue profile. Once your KTN is stored in your profile it will be associated with your reservations automatically when booking with your TrueBlue number and you will be eligible for TSA Precheck.

If you are traveling with a child under the age of 12, they too will be eligible for TSA Precheck; however, travel companions over the age of 12 are not eligible unless they are also a part of the TSA Precheck program.
