In a nutshell: In addition to the primary account holder, you can become an authorized user on an Xfinity account if the primary holder assigns you as a Manager. A Manager can perform most account actions, similar to the primary holder. You can view or change the Wi-Fi password, update call features, and manage Xfinity Home services. However, you can't make changes to the Number Lock Feature. You can only make changes for devices associated with the account. So, how do you become an authorized user? Do you want to become an authorized user on an Xfinity account? You will need to ask the primary account holder or an existing Manager to assign you the Manager role. To do this, the primary account holder or Manager must sign in to the Xfinity account first.
To log in, enter the username, email address, or mobile number, then click Let’s Go.
The primary holder or existing manager must add your first and last name to the account.
Now that you are a Manager, you have full access to the account. Unlike Members and Viewers, who have limited permissions, you can perform most actions available to the primary account holder. These include making payments, changing data plans, scheduling installation services, and disconnecting or upgrading the account.
Note that the primary account holder or an existing Manager must verify their identity before assigning you as an authorized user. They can do this by approving a notification in the app or by entering a verification code sent via text message or email.
You will get an invite when an Xfinity account holder or the Manager assigns you the Manager role. Below are the steps to send an invite.
Type in the first and last name, mobile number, and email address. Then, click Send.
You will get an email invitation or text once you are assigned the Manager role. After this, you'll need to create an Xfinity username and password.
If you are already assigned as a Member or Viewer, the account holder simply needs to change your role. To do this, proceed to the next steps.
The account holder still needs to do identity verification and confirm they are the one making the change. There's no need to create another user ID and password, if the account holder is only changing your role.
Now that you are an Xfinity Manager, you can also change the roles of Members and Viewers on the account. As mentioned, you can perform most actions available to the primary account holder. However, there are some limitations. For example, Managers cannot enroll in automatic payments or purchase Xfinity Mobile services. You can schedule installation and repair appointments, as well as explore and submit move requests. Do you still have questions about becoming an authorized user on an Xfinity account? GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
